First Peek at Mythic+ Everbloom Rework on Patch 10.2 PTR

October 05, 2023 4 minutes

Greetings adventurers! Today, we will be taking a closer look at the recently reworked Everbloom dungeon in Patch 10.2 PTR. Brace yourselves, because this dungeon will require some serious coordination and interrupting skills from your party!

The Trash

We won't delve too deep into the details of the trash mobs in this blog post, as we will cover them in greater detail in our upcoming Everbloom guide. However, here are some highlights:

  • When heading to the second boss, you will encounter the Melded Berserker who will cast the instant spell known as Bounding Whirl. This ability allows them to instantly jump to a ranged DPS player and spin on their location. On higher difficulties, this ability can deal a significant amount of damage to cloth-wearing classes, especially if they are caught off-guard. Ranged DPS players will have to constantly move from side to side to dodge this attack.
  • Another pack of trash mobs includes ones that cast Choking Vines. It is crucial to interrupt or stop this spell, as failing to do so will result in your party members being stunned.
  • The trash before the third boss, Archmage Sol, is particularly dangerous. All of the mages in this pack are immune to crowd control, which means you can only interrupt their casts using actual interrupts. There are three types of mages, each representing a different element: Fire, Frost, and Arcane. Each mage has one interruptable single target spell and one special ability. Missing an interrupt on the Fire or Arcane spells can be fatal, so make sure you have both a melee and ranged interrupt at your disposal.

The Bosses

  • Witherbark

The first boss, Witherbark, hasn't undergone any significant changes since the dungeon's release in Warlords of Draenor.

In all phases of the fight, the boss will target players with Unchecked Growth, which causes vines to appear after a few seconds. It is crucial to position these vines between the boss and the water. The boss periodically enters a 40-second phase during which it takes normal damage, followed by a phase where it becomes vulnerable and takes double damage. Water globules will try to reach the boss, and if four of them successfully hit, the boss will return to the initial phase. You can either kill the water globules or divert them by leading them to the vines, where they will transform into adds.

The goal in this fight is to keep the boss vulnerable for as long as possible, but be aware that as time passes, more and more water globules will spawn, increasing the difficulty of the encounter.

  • Protectors

The second boss is a council-style encounter with two casters and one melee boss. The casters cannot be moved, while the melee boss can. The active caster will continuously cast spells that need to be interrupted, while the inactive caster channels a damage over time ability that must be healed through. The melee boss also poses a threat by summoning globs of poison under each raid member. It is advisable to focus on killing one of the casters as soon as possible to minimize the damage output of the encounter.

  • Archmage Sol

Compared to the deadly trash mobs preceding her, Archmage Sol's mechanics are relatively straightforward once you learn the pattern. Every 20 seconds, she will transition between the elements of Fire, Frost, and Arcane, using special abilities corresponding to each element. These abilities closely resemble the ones used by the trash mobs before her.

In Mythic+ difficulty, Archmage Sol combines two special abilities every time she transitions, one from the current element and one from the previous element. This adds an extra layer of challenge to the fight, requiring the players to adapt and coordinate their movements accordingly.

  • Yalnu

The fourth boss, Yalnu, has undergone recent reworks. During the encounter, Yalnu is initially debuffed with Brushfire, which makes the boss take 300% bonus damage. However, every 55 seconds, an add will spawn to interrupt the cast of Brushfire. It is crucial to quickly defeat this add to reactivate the damage buff. Additionally, Yalnu will cast Genesis, forcing the team to step on the Lashers before they uproot.

Conclusion

These are just a taste of the challenges that await you in the reworked Everbloom dungeon. Remember to bring your A-game, coordinate interrupts, and stay alert for the boss mechanics. Stay tuned for our comprehensive Everbloom guide coming soon!
