Guardians of the Dream Patch 10.2 Campaign Chapter 3: Flames of the Druids (Story Spoilers)

With the first Patch 10.2 Guardians of the Dream PTR build, the 10.2 campaign is now available for testing. In this post, written by WowCarry, we will be focusing on Chapter 3 of the campaign, Druids of the Flame. So, let's dive right in and explore this exciting chapter!

Chapter 3: Druids of the Flame

In Chapter 3 of the Guardians of the Dream Campaign, our journey leads us to The Burning Barrow, where corruption has taken hold of the Barrow Den. Our objective is to extinguish the corruption in Ashen Soil and rescue the citizens of the den in Not Yet Lost. As we traverse the Barrow Den, we encounter Norana Morninglight, a Night Elf who longs for the immortality of old.

• Meeting Norana Morninglight

Norana: So you've arrived at last. I had hoped to meet you before things began in earnest. An unassuming adventurer, free to act as you please. We were free once. Unbound by the fetters of mortality. Perfect beings, blessed by the world's stewards. We could find that world again, if you wished. An unending world, preserved in flame. Ah, there you are. I was beginning to think you had lost your way.

Tyrande: Norana? You've set an entire barrow ablaze! What madness is this?

Norana: Teldrassil opened my eyes to the truth. We cannot save our people through force of will alone, Night Warrior.

Tyrande: Our people have seen enough forests burn, Norana. Whatever these fanatics promised you, it is not worth the toll the Firelands would exact.

Norana: I have simply promised these "fanatics" the birthright they are due. The fire will return us to the eternity that your draconic keepers continue to hold for themselves.

Tyrande: Wait, Norana! I-- Tyrande: I knew Norana once, Champion. I hesitated. It will not happen again.

With Tyrande's newfound resolve, we proceed to investigate The Smoldering Copse, another grove tainted by the Druids of the Flame.

• Disrupting the Druids of the Flame

As we arrive at The Smoldering Copse, the influence of the Druids of the Flame becomes evident. Our task is to disrupt their operations in Burning Ground and slay Druids of the Flame in Grim Reprisal. Tyrande ponders Norana's decision and the promises of immortality.

Tyrande: Immortality... is that truly what this is about? Is that the lie these zealots have sold them? My people have suffered so much. I will not allow these sycophants to sell them a seemingly eternal life, built upon a pyre of innocent lives. Disrupt their camp and break their ranks. I will seek out their leader and show them how foolish it is to tempt the ire of Elune.

While we clear the Copse, Tyrande and her allies track down Norana, who is attempting to complete a ritual in Forlorn Hope. A cutscene, unfortunately not available for testing, shows up, revealing a Prophet of Flame summoning a firebird. We engage in battle with the firebird and then return to Amirdrassil in The Looming Cinder, marking the completion of Chapter 3, Druids of the Flame.

Tyrande reflects on the plight of her people and the false promises of the Druids of the Flame.

Tyrande: Though it pains me to say so, I understand how these zealots have swayed so many of my people to their cause. The Kaldorei have suffered time after time. Tragedy after tragedy. The Druids of the Flame promised them relief. Purity. Salvation. But it is a lie. We cannot burn away the scars we have suffered. They will forever be a part of us. We must return to Amirdrassil. Our fight is not over, not while Fyrall yet remains to threaten all we have worked for.

Final Thoughts

Amidst the challenges and revelations in Chapter 3 of Guardians of the Dream, we begin to understand the true intentions of the Druids of the Flame and the resistance they face from Tyrande and her allies. Stay tuned for the next chapter of this thrilling campaign!
