Legion Timewalking Quest: LFR Cache as the Only Reward?

November 28, 2023 4 minutes

Legion Timewalking is here, and it brings with it a chance to experience some of the best dungeons from the Legion expansion. This week’s Bonus Event allows players to venture into six different dungeons from Legion and earn exciting rewards. But don't be fooled by appearances, the weekly quest may look like it awards an LFR item level cache, but it's actually a Normal item level cache!

What is Legion Timewalking?

Legion Timewalking is a special event that allows players to revisit dungeons from the Legion expansion. Your character and items will be scaled down to a power level fitting for the challenge, but you'll still have the chance to earn loot appropriate for your regular level. It's a great opportunity to experience the memorable dungeons from Legion and earn valuable rewards.

Which Dungeons are Available?

During this week's Bonus Event, players can adventure into the following Legion dungeons:

  • Black Rook Hold

Carved from the greatest mountain of Val'sharah by ancient elven masons, Black Rook Hold stood as a bulwark against the Burning Legion during the War of the Ancients. Explore the nigh-impregnable fortress and face the restless dead that plague the surrounding lands.

  • Court of Stars

Even as Legion troops patrol the streets, the Nightborne nobility continues to cling to custom and routine. Attend a grand gala at the largest mansion in the Noble District, where rumors of Grand Magistrix Elisande's appearance swirl amidst recent turmoil.

  • Darkheart Thicket

In the shadow of Shaladrassil, corruption and madness reigns over the once-lush forest. Venture deep into the tangled thicket and confront the Nightmare Lord Xavius as he works to break the will of his greatest prize.

  • Eye of Azshara

Amidst outlying shoals off the coast of Azsuna lies an ancient source of power. Uncover the secrets of the Tidestone of Golganneth and face the naga who seek to lay waste to the land in the name of Queen Azshara.

  • Neltharion's Lair

This ancient lair was once home to the Earth Warder, Neltharion (or Deathwing). Explore the depths and confront Dargrul, chieftain of the drogbar, as he rallies a massive army within these cavernous halls.

  • Vault of the Wardens

Discover the secrets of this Warden facility deep within Azsuna. Unleashed in the aftermath of Cordana's betrayal and the Legion's attack, dangerous creatures now roam the halls freely.

To learn more about each dungeon's bosses, tips, and available loot, check out the Adventure Guide (Shift-J), select the Dungeons tab, then choose Legion from the drop-down menu.

How to Participate?

Participating in Legion Timewalking is simple. Just follow these steps:

  1. Open the Group Finder (default hotkey: I)
  2. Select Dungeon Finder and Timewalking in the Type dropdown menu
  3. Click Find Group to be matched with other players

You'll be sent to one of the six Legion dungeons to begin your Timewalking adventure.

Weekly Quest and Rewards

During the Legion Timewalking event, be sure to complete the weekly quest offered by Kazra in Valdrakken. If you forget to pick it up there, you can start it within the Adventure Guide (Shift-J). The quest requires you to complete 5 Timewalking dungeons.

Upon completing the quest, you'll be rewarded with a Cache of Vault Treasures. Contrary to its appearance, this cache contains one piece of non-tier gear from the Normal Vault of the Incarnates. So gear up and improve your character's power!

Additionally, while Timewalking is active, you'll earn a 50% bonus to reputations earned from quests and creature kills for all reputations associated with Legion. It's a great opportunity to improve your standing with various factions.

Legion Timewalking Rewards

For those looking for even more rewards, make sure to pay a visit to the Timewalking vendor Aridormi in Dalaran (above the Broken Isles). Aridormi will gladly trade your hard-earned Timewarped Badges for tempting rewards, including:

A Mount Favor of the Val'sharah Hippogryph
A Toy Nightborne Guard's Vigilance
A Cosmetic Shield appearance Replica Aegis of Aggramar
A Transmog Ensemble Ensemble: Ravencrest's Battleplate
Reputation Tokens

  • Court of Farondis
  • Dreamweavers
  • Highmountain Tribe

About Bonus Events

World of Warcraft offers a rotating schedule of Bonus Events, each providing a unique activity and a once-per-event quest with a reward. These events occur each week, starting on Tuesdays, and offer players a chance to earn additional rewards while engaging in various in-game activities.

To stay updated on the scheduled events, make sure to check the in-game calendar regularly. The Adventure Guide also provides a direct link to active Bonus Events, making it easy to accept any quests associated with the event of the week.
