In the colorful lore of World of Warcraft, the Nether Drakes were originally spawned by Deathwing, the infamous dragon who wreaked havoc during the second great war. When Draenor was torn asunder and transformed into Outland, the eggs were forever changed, infusing the dragons with an ethereal essence and resulting in a unique variety of scale colors.
