November/23 Silithus Trading Post Weapons Easter Egg - Xal'atath and Titans Dialogues
A new exciting discovery has been made in the world of Warcraft! Thanks to a tip from Twitter user Korrin, players have stumbled upon a hidden easter egg involving the Twilight Hermit NPC and the Arsenal: Cosmic Weapons Cache. This intriguing find gives players a glimpse into the future of the game and hints at what may be in store for the Warcraft universe.
The Twilight Hermit, introduced in Battle for Azeroth, has always been a mysterious character. In a quest called "Wriggling Mass," players learn that the Hermit used to be plagued by visions until the day Sargeras struck Silithus. Holding a wriggling mass, players would encounter the Hermit and discover his connection to the visions.
"Please, lower your weapon, I mean you no harm. The whispers ceased speaking to me on the day that the wound opened. I wish to spend my days atoning for what I have done in my life, perhaps I can help you. You... I can see it in your eyes, you have seen the vision. The goat, the pool, drowning in the icy blackness, does this sound familiar? I can tell you its meaning. It means we are fast closing in on the end of this world, friend." - Twilight Hermit
Initially, this interaction hinted at the presence of the Old Gods and foreshadowed events that unfolded at the end of the Battle for Azeroth expansion. However, recent developments involving the Twilight Hermit provide interesting dialogue that may shed light on the future of Warcraft.
The Arsenal: Cosmic Weapons Cache
The Trading Post in November/23 rewarded players with the Arsenal: Cosmic Weapons Cache, which contains five unique weapons. Two of the weapons are themed after swords, two after Titan designs, and one after the Harbinger known as Xal'atath.
Weapon | Description |
Gorridar, Darkblade of the Sunderer | A sword resembling Sargeras's blade |
Seetheras, Broadsword of the Sunderer | A sword resembling Sargeras's blade |
Taesavir, Sword of the Grand Design | A sword with Titan designs |
M'thorus, Dagger of the Grand Design | |
Voidsong, Stave of the Harbinger | A stave belonging to Xal'atath, the Harbinger |
Approaching the Twilight Hermit with any of these weapons transmogged triggers new dialogue options. Let's take a closer look at each interaction:
Gorridar, Darkblade of the Sunderer / Seetheras, Broadsword of the Sunderer
"That weapon you hold... you should not have brought it here! I warned you before that the end times are coming. That weapon you wield proves it. It emanates the same energies that coursed through the Dark Titan's blade. Why did he strike this place? He was far too masterful a tactician to choose this target by chance. His crusade sought to eradicate all life from existence. Do you think his final act before being captured by the Pantheon would not be in service to that goal? Tread carefully,
Taesavir, Sword of the Grand Design / M'thorus, Dagger of the Grand Design
"That blade you hold... it profanes this place! To bring a weapon like that here is to invite destruction,
Voidsong, Stave of the Harbinger
"Your stave... it whispers to me! Do you have any idea how ancient that weapon you wield is,
These interactions reveal more about the significance of these weapons and their connection to the larger Warcraft lore. The hints surrounding the Worldsoul Saga continue to pile up as we approach the end of the Dragonflight expansion. Exciting changes are on the horizon, and we can't wait to see what this new chapter of Warcraft holds!
