Possible Expansion Leak for World of Warcraft 11.0: Avaloren Expansion Rumored

October 26, 2023 3 minutes

With just a little over a week until BlizzCon 2023, excitement is building in the World of Warcraft community. As fans eagerly await the announcement of the next expansion, a leak has surfaced that may have revealed what's to come. Now, it's important to note that these leaks and rumors are just speculation at this point, but they have certainly sparked a lot of discussion among players.

The leak, titled "Is this 11.0??", originated on Reddit and has generated a significant amount of buzz. The post includes an image featuring four slides showcasing new zones and a text that reads "New Continent: Avalon". While this alone doesn't provide much evidence, further details have emerged that support the legitimacy of the leak.

One of the leaked images shows a laptop webpage displaying the presumed expansion on Battle.net. Alongside it, there's a mobile phone open to a feature overview, with the phrase "mobile ready!" suggesting that it's a screenshot of someone's work on the expansion.

Introducing Avaloren: A New Continent

The leak suggests that players will be able to explore the distant lands of Avaloren, which lie beyond the storming seas of Azeroth's western horizon. Avaloren has been isolated for centuries, inhabited by those who have formed sacred bonds with the living world beneath them. However, these lands are also divided by ancient grudges and conflicts.

  • Agg'orand - Guardians of the Desert Plateau

The Agg'orand, a powerful group charged with protecting the harsh desert plateau, has ruled their earthen domain with an iron fist. But with new threats emerging, the unity among these mighty warriors has crumbled, leading to a bitter conflict that tears the region apart.

  • Khaz Algar - Home of the Stormriders

Nestled within the secluded mountain crags, Khaz Algar is a roaring canyon overflowing with elemental power. The Stormriders, known for their resilience and mastery of the skies, have made their mark upon this unique landscape from their aerie strongholds.

Additionally, something called The Everward has been mentioned, though its nature and significance remain unclear.

While this leak appears to be the most convincing one so far, some fans remain skeptical and have raised several points worth considering:

Speculation and Skepticism

  • 1. Birds!

In the Reddit image, several birds can be seen on either side of the Avaloren text. These birds bear a striking resemblance to ones that were previously datamined in Patch 10.1, even matching their mid-animation poses.

  • 2. Light Pillar

Blizzard recently shared behind-the-scenes photos of props for BlizzCon, and the pillars seen in the leaked image bear a striking resemblance to those shown in the photos. In particular, the pillar in the back right of the photo matches those among the green foliage in the leaked slide.

  • 3. Text and Design

The font used for "New Continent: Avaloren" resembles the one used in the Shadowlands trailer, albeit with a bit more shine. However, Dragonflight's feature overview used a completely different font. This inconsistency is worth noting.

  • 4. Expansion Site

The image with the laptop appears similar to what one might expect to see at the top of an expansion page for Dragonflight. While the listed information on the page doesn't reveal any surprises, it's worth mentioning that the text for Khaz Algar mentions the Stormriders. Previously, an achievement for obtaining an "Algarian Stormrider" mount was leaked, suggesting it could be a perk for purchasing the expansion.

While these pieces of evidence are compelling, it's important to remember that nothing is confirmed until Blizzard announces it at BlizzCon 2023. Until then, all we can do is speculate and anticipate what they have in store for us while players uncover the secrets of Guardians of the Dream patch.
