Questline: Unearth the Legacy Armor in Patch 10.1.7 (Story Spoilers)

With Patch 10.1.7, the Undead Heritage Armor questline is now available to play for Undead players. We played through the questline and bring all the details you might have missed on your playthrough!

Unliving Summons

The Undead Heritage questline starts at the Ruins of Lordaeron with Lilian Voss. When first logging on your undead, you will receive the quest Unliving Summons. We're sent to talk to Deathstalker Commander Belmont, who tells us there is still a faction willing to attempt to challenge the Forsaken's hold on Lordaeron - The Scarlet Crusade. When talking to Belmont, a cutscene will play, showing the Forsaken attacking the scarlets.

You can also talk to Belmont to ask him about how they are still active. The Scarlet Crusade has been defeated multiple times in the Plaguelands and Northrend. Some of them gave up and joined less fanatical orders, but it seems like there's always some old leader or new opportunist willing to take up the accursed banner.

There are people in the world with good reason to hate the Forsaken, but the Scarlet Crusade isn't here for that. They see the undead as abominations meant to be destroyed, fueling their killer hatred.

To the Sepulcher

We're then sent to the Sepulcher to meet up with Velonara and Faranell. In the Sepulcher, we learn that the Scarlet Crusade has taken over Fenris Isle and is using it as a base of operations for their takeover. We're asked to collect slanderous propaganda, plagued flesh from Silverpine wildlife, and plants.

After we collect the materials, Calia and Lilian join us at the Sepulcher. Calia asks us to obtain a Scarlet costume, and Lilian asks us to frighten and slay scarlets. You can also ask Lilian about her feelings on the Scarlet Crusade as she was one of them in life. In death, she turned into the very thing that they hated.

The Scarlet Spy

With some recruits defeated, a disguise in hand, and some new plague on our backs, we're sent to Fenris Isle. Once we arrive, we meet with a quartermaster who requires us to meet with the Scarlet commander. But before that, we cause some issues by eliminating archmages and planting explosive plague barrels.

As we place the barrels, the Scarlet Commander addresses the Crusade, readying them to reclaim Lordaeron from the undead. We then reunite with Velonara and call in the Forsaken banshees.

Death to the Living

We're then asked to kill everything living on Fenris Isle. During this quest, you can have some fun by cannibalizing scarlets. Finally, we're asked to infiltrate Fenris Isle and kill Scarlet Commander Forsythe.

This is the Hour of the Forsaken

Lilian confronts Forsythe, who taunts her about what she has become. A battle ensues, and even though Forsythe attempts to imprison Lilian and the player with the power of Light, they use the Will of the Forsaken to free themselves. Eventually, Forsythe is defeated, and the Scarlet Crusade is defeated once more.

After the battle, we're sent back to the Ruins of Lordaeron and receive Forsaken accolades, symbolizing our successful defense of Lordaeron and our commitment to the Forsaken. Lilian expresses her gratitude and talks about what it means to be Forsaken - to take care of their own with their unique ingredients, strength, determination, cunning, and hope.
