November 05, 2023 4 minutes

Blizzard wasted no time in providing fans with an in-depth recap of the BlizzCon 2023 Deep Dive panel for World of Warcraft. The panel covered a range of exciting new features coming to the game, including Delves, Warbands, Hero Talents, the Earthen allied race, dynamic flight, PvP updates, and more!

Introducing Delves

Delves are quick adventures designed for solo players or groups of up to five. These adventures are seamlessly integrated into the outdoor world, offering a new endgame activity alongside dungeons, raids, and PvP. With 12 Delves available at launch, players can expect variety, flexibility, and replayability.

These adventures draw inspiration from past gameplay experiences like Torghast, Islands, and Scenarios. Delves prioritize player choice and offer a range of mysteries, puzzles, and bosses to overcome. Completing a Delve rewards players with treasure, including currency, gold, cosmetics, and more, with the possibility of opening Resplendent Chests.

  • Just the Facts:

  • 10-15 minute adventures
  • Unravel mysteries and find treasure throughout Khaz Algar
  • New seasonal rewards with a narrative tie-in
  • NPC companions, starting with Brann Bronzebeard
  • Various Delve locations with different difficulty tiers

Delves are seamlessly integrated into various zones, offering a range of environments, settings, and challenges. Some of the Delve locations include Isle of Dorn, Hallowfall, The Ringing Deeps, Azj-Kahet, and more.

The Great Vault

The Great Vault is expanding to include a new "World" category, catering to players who engage in outdoor activities. By completing outdoor objectives or participating in Delves, players can unlock rewards based on the level of difficulty completed. PvP players will also receive additional Conquest points to purchase desired items.

Among the rewards available in Delves are various cosmetic items, including unique helms like the fungarian hat, kobold helm with candles, and the terrifying kobyss helm. Additionally, players can unlock a new customizable flying mount by participating in Delves.

Warbands

Warbands is an account-wide system aimed at improving the alt-friendly experience in World of Warcraft. As players increasingly level multiple characters, Warbands allows accomplishments to be shared across all characters on a Battle.net account. While providing convenience and flexibility, Warbands does not grant additional power.

  • Warbands Features:

  • Warband Bank: Share items between characters on a single Battle.net account
  • Warbound Items: Bonus personal loot items shared with alternate characters
  • Transmogrification Collection: Add class-specific items to the collection for use on other characters
  • Accessible reputations and flight paths for Warband characters
  • Leveling up companion NPCs available to Warband characters
  • Account-wide achievements
  • Improved login screen showcasing characters from the Warband

Warbands aims to streamline alt gameplay and remove social barriers, allowing players to freely apply for or recruit guild members across realms. Mythic raiding will be available from the start, with the Hall of Fame serving as a separate achievement system.

Hero Talents

With The War Within expansion, players will gain 10 new talent points for each of the 10 levels earned. Hero talents aim to enhance class fantasy, offer flexibility, and provide progression without adding excessive complexity. Each class specialization can choose from three talent trees: Class, Hero, and Specialization.

For example, a Balance druid might choose between the Keeper of the Grove tree or the Elune's Chosen tree. Hero talents offer additional choices specific to different types of content, expanding customization options.

  • Available Hero Talent Specializations:

Class Specialization Hero Talent Tree 1 Hero Talent Tree 2
Death Knight Rider of the Apocalypse San'layn
Hunter Sentinel Pack Leader
Priest Voidweaver Oracle
Warrior Colossus Slayer
Demon Hunter Aldrachi Reaver Fel-Scarred
Mage Sunfury Frostfire
Rogue Deathstalker Trickster
Druid Keeper of the Grove Elune's Chosen
Monk Master of Harmony Shado-pan
Shaman Stormbringer Farseer
Paladin Lightsmith Herald of the Sun
Warlock Soul Harvester Hellcaller

Other features coming with The War Within include the Earthen Allied Race, dynamic flight in all flyable areas, a new battleground set in the Ringing Deeps, interface updates for the Spellbook and quest log, and the ability to freely recruit guild members across realms.
