Keep reading to learn more about the Dragonflight Season 3 Tier Set Bonuses and their impact on each class and specialization.

First Impressions of the Dragonflight Season 3 Tier Set Bonuses for Demon Hunters

Today, our focus will be on the Demon Hunter class, specifically the Havoc and Vengeance specializations. We have carefully examined the newly revealed tier set bonuses and shared insights on how these bonuses will likely affect their respective specs in Dragonflight Season 3.

  • Havoc Demon Hunter Season 3 Tier Set First Impression

The 2-set bonus for Havoc Demon Hunters in the Dragonflight Season 3 Tier Set grants a 50% chance for each slash of Blade Dance to Throw Glaive at an enemy for 35% damage. Meanwhile, the 4-set bonus reduces the remaining cooldown of The Hunt by 0.4 seconds whenever Throw Glaive is cast and extends The Hunt's damage over time effect by 4 seconds.

Upon analysis, it is clear that the Havoc Demon Hunter tier set places a heavy emphasis on procs of Throw Glaive and minor cooldown reduction of The Hunt. However, these bonuses may have limited impact on the spec, as they do not significantly alter the rotation or improve overall DPS.

Currently, simulations have not been conducted with the tier set due to the pending class rework. However, based on initial estimations, the tier set is underperforming compared to other gear options, providing a minimal DPS increase of just 12%. The set is also less effective in single target encounters, as the benefits of Throw Glaive build are not enough to surpass the Serrated Glaive single target build.

On the positive side, the tier set does offer some benefits for AoE encounters, where the Throw Glaive build shines. However, it still falls behind in AoE scenarios before bridge the gap with other specs.

Overall, the current implementation of the tier set for Havoc Demon Hunters is not as impactful as desired. The numbers and values require adjustments to match the spec's overall damage output.

  • Vengeance Demon Hunter Season 3 Tier Set First Impression

The 2-set bonus for Vengeance Demon Hunters grants increased damage, healing, and stamina when attacking a target afflicted by Sigil of Flame. The effect stacks up to 5 times and lasts for 8 seconds. Meanwhile, the 4-set bonus causes Sigil of Flame's periodic damage to have a chance to shatter an additional Soul Fragment from a target, dealing extra damage. Each 40 Fury spent reduces the cooldown of Sigil of Flame by 1.0 second.

Upon initial testing, it is clear that the Vengeance Demon Hunter tier set is suited for multi-target scenarios, providing a significant boost to damage and healing. However, its impact in single target encounters is relatively weaker.

The 2-set bonus functions as a stacking buff that refreshes whenever a stack is gained or refreshed by any class ability except Immolation Aura. The uptime of the buff ranges between 50-60%. The 4-set bonus scales with the number of targets, delivering consistent damage to the primary target. In addition, it provides extra souls for healing with Spirit Bomb.

The set bonus synergizes well with talents that extend Sigil durations and reduce cooldowns, enhancing its overall value. However, the lack of any damage reduction in the tier set is a notable weakness. Overall, the Vengeance Demon Hunter set bonus shows promise, especially in AoE situations, making it ideal for Mythic+ dungeons.

Feedback:

While the Havoc Demon Hunter tier set requires further tweaking to reach its desired impact, the Vengeance Demon Hunter tier set offers a solid bonus for multi-target encounters. However, both sets could benefit from additional adjustments to balance their performance in various scenarios.
