Rime Arrow and Faeform Adjusted - Additional Plunderstorm Hotfixes

Welcome to Plunderstorm Patch Notes! Today, we have some exciting hotfixes to share with you. The developers have made adjustments to offensive and utility abilities in the game to enhance gameplay and balance. Let's dive into the details!

Evening Hotfixes

Here are the latest hotfixes for Plunderstorm released in the evening (6:48 PM PST):

  • Rime Arrow:
    • Rank 1: Cooldown unchanged at 10 seconds
    • Rank 2: Cooldown increased to 8.5 seconds (from 8 seconds)
    • Rank 3: Cooldown increased to 7 seconds (from 6 seconds)
    • Rank 4: Cooldown increased to 5.5 seconds (from 4 seconds)
  • Faeform:
    • Damage reduction reduced to 50% for 1 second (from 90% for 3 seconds)

Afternoon Hotfixes

Earlier in the day (5:12 PM PST), the following hotfixes were implemented:

  • Fire Whirl:
    • Damage reduced at all ranks
    • Rank 1: Damage reduced by 23.3% to 0.0575 of AP per tick (from 0.074)
    • Rank 2: Damage reduced by 21.4% to 0.0605 of AP per tick (from 0.077)
    • Rank 3: Damage reduced by 21.4% to 0.0638 of AP per tick (from 0.081)
    • Rank 4: Damage reduced by 21.8% to 0.0665 of AP per tick (from 0.085)
  • Stormproof Sloop:
    • Duration reduced to 40 seconds (from 60 seconds)
  • Storm Winds:
    • Now pierces immunities
  • Players are now immune to knockbacks when standing near Da'kash Grimledger in the preparation area
  • Outfits are now retained between matches

Blue Post

A new blue post has been released to confirm these hotfixes. Here's what the developers had to say:

Today, we've made the following adjustments to offensive and utility abilities in Plunderstorm:

  • Fire Whirl: Damage reduced by 20%
  • Developers' notes: We want to bring Fire Whirl's damage more in line with other offensive spells.

  • Faeform: Now provides a 50% damage reduction for the first 1 second in Faeform (was 90%)
  • Developers' notes: Faeform provided too much defense without counterplay.

  • Rime Arrow: Cooldown increased at higher ranks, now with a cooldown of 10/8.5/7/5.5 seconds (was 10/8/6/4 seconds)
  • Developers' notes: Rime Arrow's short cooldown made it too low-risk, often used for denial and chasing.
