Specs Buffed in Upcoming Class Tuning on December 19th

Blizzard has recently announced upcoming class tuning adjustments that will take place during the next weekly reset. After carefully analyzing both class performance data and player feedback, Blizzard has decided to make necessary changes to address the over and under-performance of certain classes in group content and PvP. These adjustments will be implemented with the scheduled weekly maintenance in each region. Let's take a closer look at the specific changes for each class.

Classes

  • Demon Hunter

  • Sigil of Flame damage has been reduced by 10%.

Developers' Notes: Adjustments have been made to reduce the damage output of Sigil of Flame for Demon Hunters.

  • Havoc

  • Collective Anguish (talent) damage from summoned Fel Devastation has been reduced by 10%.
  • Ragefire (talent) damage stored from Immolation Aura critical strikes has been reduced to 30% (previously 35%).
  • A Fire Inside (talent) chance to reset Immolation Aura has been reduced to 25% (previously 30%).

Developers' Notes: Havoc Demon Hunters will experience reductions in damage output for their talents, Collective Anguish, Ragefire, and A Fire Inside.

  • Evoker

  • DevastationPyre damage has been increased by 15%. This change does not apply to PvP.
  • All spells and abilities for the Evoker class have had their damage increased by 3%. This change does not apply to PvP.

Developers' Notes: The Evoker class will see an improvement in damage output for DevastationPyre and all spells and abilities.

  • Preservation

  • Resonating Sphere once again applies Echo to the first 5 allies it passes through (previously 3).

Developers' Notes: The Resonating Sphere effect has been adjusted to provide Echo to the first 5 allies it encounters, ensuring that it covers the entire party in dungeons.

Mage

  • Arcane

  • Arcane Blast damage has been increased by 6%. This change does not apply to PvP.
  • Arcane Missiles damage has been increased by 10%. This change does not apply to PvP.

Developers' Notes: Arcane Mages will experience an increase in damage output for Arcane Blast and Arcane Missiles.

  • Fire

  • Fire Blast damage has been increased by 12%. This change does not apply to PvP.
  • Pyroblast damage has been increased by 5%. This change does not apply to PvP.
  • Fireball damage has been increased by 10%. This change does not apply to PvP.
  • Flamestrike damage has been increased by 12%.
  • Intensifying Flame now increases Ignite damage by 25% (previously 15%).

Developers' Notes: Fire Mages will see an improvement in damage output for Fire Blast, Pyroblast, Fireball, Flamestrike, and the Ignite effect.

  • Frost

  • Frostbolt damage has been increased by 15%. This change does not apply to PvP.
  • Ice Lance damage has been increased by 12%. This change does not apply to PvP.
  • Flurry damage has been increased by 10%. This change does not apply to PvP.
  • Glacial Spike damage has been increased by 6%. This change does not apply to PvP.

Developers' Notes: Frost Mages will experience an increase in damage output for Frostbolt, Ice Lance, Flurry, and Glacial Spike.

Monk

  • Windwalker

  • Spinning Crane Kick damage has been increased by 20%.
  • Blackout Kick damage has been increased by 10%.
  • Rising Sun Kick damge has been increased by 8%. This change does not apply to PvP.
  • Fists of Fury damage has been increased by 8%. This change does not apply to PvP.
  • Blackout Reinforcement has been increased to 250% (previously 200%).
  • Glory of the Dawn damage has been increased by 12%.
  • Dance of Chi-Ji bonus has been increased to 300% (previously 200%).

Developers' Notes: Windwalker Monks will see an increase in damage output for Spinning Crane Kick, Blackout Kick, Rising Sun Kick, Fists of Fury, Blackout Reinforcement, Glory of the Dawn, and the Dance of Chi-Ji bonus.

  • Mistweaver

  • Unison now heals a second injured ally for 35% of the amount healed (previously 50%). This change does not apply to PvP.
  • Enveloping Breath healing has been reduced by 10%. This change does not apply to PvP.
  • Essence Font healing has been reduced by 8%. This change does not apply to PvP.

Developers' Notes: Mistweaver Monks will experience a reduction in healing output for Unison, Enveloping Breath, and Essence Font.

Paladin

  • Retribution

  • All ability damage has been increased by 3%.

Developers' Notes: Retribution Paladins will see a slight increase in damage output for all abilities.

Priest

  • Shadow

  • Psychic Link now causes direct damage spells to inflict 25% of their damage on all other targets afflicted by your Vampiric Touch (previously 15%).

Developers' Notes: Shadow Priests will experience an increase in damage output with the Psychic Link effect.

  • Holy

  • All healing has been increased by 3%. This change does not apply to PvP.
  • Prayer of Mending healing has been increased by 15%. This change does not apply to PvP.

Developers' Notes: Holy Priests will see an increase in healing output for all abilities, especially Prayer of Mending.

Rogue

  • Assassination

  • All ability and melee autoattack damage has been reduced by 3%. This change does not apply to PvP.

Developers' Notes: Assassination Rogues will experience a slight reduction in damage output for all abilities and melee autoattacks.

Shaman

  • Elemental

  • Earthquake damage has been increased by 50%.

Developers' Notes: Elemental Shamans will see a significant increase in damage output for Earthquake.

  • Enhancement

  • Elemental Warding now reduces magic damage taken by 3%/6% (previously 2%/4%).

Developers' Notes: Enhancement Shamans will experience an improvement in survivability with the adjustment made to Elemental Warding.

  • Restoration

  • Torrent now increases the initial heal of Riptide by 15%/30% (previously 10%/20%). This change does not apply to PvP.
  • Healing Surge healing has been increased by 12%. This change does not apply to PvP.
  • Healing Stream Totem healing has been increased by 12%. This change does not apply to PvP.

Developers' Notes: Restoration Shamans will see an increase in healing output for Torrent, Healing Surge, and Healing Stream Totem.

Warlock

  • Affliction

  • Seed of Corruption damage has been increased by 10%.
  • Soul Rot now applies to up to 4 additional targets (previously 3).
  • Dark Harvest now increases critical strike and haste by 4% per target (previously 2.5%).

Developers' Notes: Affliction Warlocks will experience an increase in damage output for Seed of Corruption, Soul Rot, and Dark Harvest.

  • Destruction

  • Rain of Fire damage has been increased by 12%.
  • Cataclysm damage has been increased by 25%.
  • Immolation damage from Infernal and Blasphemy has been increased by 25%.
  • Immolate damage has been increased by 10%.

Developers' Notes: Destruction Warlocks will see an improvement in damage output for Rain of Fire, Cataclysm, Immolation, and Immolate.

Player versus Player

  • Gladiator's Distinction (Trinket Set Bonus)

  • The primary stat for DPS and tank specializations is now increased by 12% (previously 20%) when in Arenas, Battlegrounds, and War Mode.

Developers' Notes: The Gladiator's Distinction trinket set bonus has been adjusted to provide a smaller increase in primary stats for DPS and tank specializations during PvP encounters.

Druid

  • Balance

  • Stellar Flare backlash damage has been increased by 8%.

Developers' Notes: Balance Druids will see an increase in backlash damage for Stellar Flare.

  • Feral

  • Regrowth healing is no longer reduced in PvP combat (previously reduced by 20%).

Developers' Notes: Feral Druids will now receive full healing benefits from Regrowth in PvP combat.

Hunter

  • Marksmanship

  • Aimed Shot now deals 40% additional damage in PvP (previously 25%).
  • Rapid Fire now deals 30% additional damage in PvP (previously 20%).

Developers' Notes: Marksmanship Hunters will see a significant increase in damage output for Aimed Shot and Rapid Fire during PvP encounters.

Paladin

  • Holy

  • Mana regeneration is now reduced by 35% in PvP combat (previously 25%).

Developers' Notes: Holy Paladins will experience a reduction in mana regeneration during PvP combat.

Shaman

  • Enhancement

  • Healing Surge healing is now increased by 5% in PvP combat (previously reduced by 12%).
  • Control of Lava (Flame Shock backlash damage) has been increased by 8%.

Developers' Notes: Enhancement Shamans will receive a healing increase with Healing Surge and a boost in Flame Shock backlash damage during PvP encounters.

  • Elemental

  • Searing Flames now has a 40% chance to generate Maelstrom in PvP combat (previously 100%).
  • Rolling Magma is now 60% effective in PvP combat.
  • Control of Lava (Flame Shock backlash damage) has been increased by 8%.

Developers' Notes: Elemental Shamans will experience adjustments to the chance of generating Maelstrom with Searing Flames, reduced effectiveness of Rolling Magma, and increased Flame Shock backlash damage during PvP encounters.

  • Restoration

  • Healing Tide Totem health has been increased by 30%.

Developers' Notes: Restoration Shamans will see an increase in health provided by Healing Tide Totem during PvP encounters.

Rogue

  • Subtlety

  • The Amirdrassil Class Set 2-piece bonus is now 30% effective in PvP combat (previously 50%).
  • Eviscerate damage has been reduced by 7.5%.

Developers' Notes: Subtlety Rogues will experience a reduction in effectiveness for the Amirdrassil Class Set 2-piece bonus during PvP encounters, as well as a decrease in damage output for Eviscerate.

Warlock

  • Affliction

  • Unstable Affliction backlash damage has been increased by 8%.
  • Dark Harvest is now 75% effective in PvP combat.

Developers' Notes: Affliction Warlocks will see an increase in backlash damage for Unstable Affliction and a decrease in effectiveness for Dark Harvest during PvP encounters.

  • Destruction

  • Chaos Bolt damage is now increased by 70% in PvP combat (previously 75%).
  • Shadowburn damage is now increased by 10% in PvP combat (previously 15%).
  • Flashpoint is now 50% effective in PvP combat.

Developers' Notes: Destruction Warlocks will experience slight adjustments to damage output for Chaos Bolt, Shadowburn, and Flashpoint during PvP encounters.
