Stay Awhile and Listen: Highlighting the Seeds of Renewal Patch 10.2.5 Update

January 22, 2024 6 minutes

The Seeds of Renewal update has brought some intriguing developments to the world of Dragonflight as we eagerly anticipate what's to come in The War Within. In this blog post, we'll be diving into some of the conversations that have been taking place, so beware of spoilers from Patch 10.2.5 Seeds of Renewal!

Vyranoth: Aspect of Storms

Vyranoth, perched atop the Seat of Aspects, reveals the reason behind her self-proclaimed title, 'Aspect of Storms.' She explains that she chose this title to pay homage to the various flights of dragons that she represents, including her fallen sister Razsageth.

"Blessed by Azeroth, our world's primal fury now courses through me -- relentless as a hailstorm, howling with frozen winds. I also stand as a symbol for the Thorignir and the Netherwing, and the storms that they call home. Lastly, I wanted to honor my fallen sister one final time. Razsageth, the Storm-Eater, who granted me the gift of freedom. It's a gift that I aim to share with all dragonkind."

Genn Greymane & Mathias Shaw: A Mysterious Journey

In the vicinity of the Valdrakken portal to Stormwind, Genn Greymane engages in a conversation with Mathias Shaw about the recent sighting of Anduin Wrynn. The discussion reveals that Anduin has been spotted in Kalimdor, raising questions about his motives and destination.

Genn Greymane: "Are you certain it was him?"
Mathias Shaw: "My agents in Ratchet confirmed it. He was seen buying supplies."
Genn Greymane: "Why Kalimdor? Why wouldn't he return home to Stormwind?"
Mathias Shaw: "I don't know. But he was traveling south. He must have noticed my people on his tail. He lost them in the Barrens."
Genn Greymane: "South... What could he be after?"
Genn Greymane: "Send word to Jaina. She'll want to know where he's headed."
Mathias Shaw: "You don't want to go after him yourself?"
Genn Greymane: "If he's staying away, he must have his reasons. We need to trust him."
Mathias Shaw: "Should I inform Lord Commander Turalyon?"
Genn Greymane: "No. Not until we know more. Let's keep this quiet, Spymaster."
Mathias Shaw: "It will be done, King Greymane."

Kalecgos & Khadgar: Prioritizing Responsibilities

At the Seat of Aspects, Kalecgos steps down from the Council of Six in Dalaran to focus on his duties as a dragon aspect. Khadgar accepts Kalecgos's resignation and asks for his assistance in researching a mysterious artifact obtained by the Harbinger from the Forbidden Reach.

Kalecgos: "Impeccable timing, Champion. Khadgar should be arriving shortly."
Khadgar: "My ears are burning, Kalec! To what do I owe the honor?"
Kalecgos: "Bittersweet news, I'm afraid. Khadgar, I... I have chosen to step down from the Council of Six."
Kalecgos: "My duties as Aspect must take precedence. I'm needed in Valdrakken far more than in Dalaran."
Khadgar: "Is that all? Forgive me, but that hardly comes as a surprise. I suspected as much when you asked to speak with me."
Kalecgos: "So you do not think ill of me for relinquishing my position?"
Khadgar: "Perish the thought. Your family comes first, Kalec. I could never fault you for that."
Khadgar: "Though... I do have a request to make of you."
Khadgar: "The artifact Iridikron took from the Forbidden Reach, the one he handed over to this mysterious 'Harbinger'... Our libraries hold scarce information about it. Given Malygos's history with Neltharion... "
Kalecgos: "You hope that I might uncover more in the Azure Archives."
Kalecgos: "Consider it done, old friend. I will share all the information I can find."
Khadgar: "Thank you, Kalec. Strange, isn't it? The Kirin Tor and the Aspect of Magic working hand in hand."
Kalecgos: "It's a new age. One we will face together. Us, the Council, and whoever replaces me."
Khadgar: "Rest assured, we will fill your vacant seat... but no one could ever replace you."
Khadgar: "Farewell for now, Kalecgos. Be it here, Dalaran, or Karazhan, I look forward to our next reunion."

Scalecommander Emberthal: The Future of Dracthyr

In Valdrakken, Scalecommander Emberthal and the Dracythyr faction leaders, Azurathel and Cindrethresh, reflect on their awakening and discuss their place in the world. They express their newfound alliances and optimism for the future of the Dragon Isles.

Emberthal: "My dear friends, so much has happened since we emerged from our creches."
Cindrethresh: "Especially for you, Emberthal."
Emberthal: "I have found peace."
Azurathel: "After everything you've been through, Emberthal, are you...?"
Emberthal: "I will always remember the names of those lost, but I have discovered a new purpose in leading the Ebon Scales."
Emberthal: "And what about each of you?"
Cindrethresh: "Initially, I had doubts about whether the dracthyr would align well with the Horde. But I have grown fond of them... and they, fond of us."
Cindrethresh: "My personal favorites are the vulpera. They may be feisty little squirrels... or whatever they are."
Azurathel: "Likewise, the Alliance has formally extended its offer for us to join its ranks. Its members are brave and noble, deserving of our allegiance."
Azurathel: "I believe Lord Commander Turalyon has come to appreciate our discipline. He values skilled soldiers."
Emberthal: "When we emerged into this new age, we were unsure of whom to trust."
Emberthal: "Now, we have many allies, both among the mortal kingdoms and our fellow dragons."
Cindrethresh: "Including a new Earth-Warder who hopefully won't imprison us for millennia!"
Cindrethresh: "Probably."
Azurathel: "As long as you behave yourself, Cindre."
Cindrethresh: "Where's the fun in that?"
Emberthal: "Come, my friends. There is so much awaiting us... in the Dragon Isles and beyond."

Wrathion & Sabellian: Farewell, for Now

At the Seat of Aspects, Sabellian inquires about Wrathion's next steps and praises his ability to connect with mortals. Sabellian offers his well wishes and hopes that despite not having the title of an aspect, Wrathion can consider the Dragon Isles as his home.

Sabellian: "Wrathion, Ebyssian mentioned that you'll soon be leaving the Isles."
Wrathion: "I didn't peg you as someone who engages in gossip, Sabellian."
Sabellian: "Hmph. Is it true?"
Wrathion: "Indeed. Iridikron may be lying low, but he still poses a significant threat to Azeroth."
Wrathion: "I will coordinate the Blacktalon's efforts to track him down. Even Iridikron can't elude them forever."
Sabellian: "Indeed. I must admit, your agents have impressed me far more than I expected."
Sabellian: "With few exceptions, I never held mortals in high regard. But you have a way with them."
Wrathion: "I suppose I do...
Wrathion: "My time in the Dragon Isles was a grand adventure, but it didn't feel like the homecoming I had hoped for."
Wrathion: "I often felt that I had more in common with mortals than with dragons... and feared that I belonged to neither."
Wrathion: "I thought that by becoming an Aspect, I could prove my true identity. Not just to the world, but to myself."
Wrathion: "But now I see that I never had anything to prove. My place is among mortals and dragons...
Wrathion: "That is my strength, not a weakness. It's who I am and who I've always been."
Sabellian: "Well said. You walk a path that I could never tread, Wrathion. Take pride in it."
Sabellian: "And if that path leads you back to the Dragon Isles... I hope it feels like coming home."
Wrathion: "Hah! We shall see. Thank you, Brother."
