Trade Crests Ascend to Higher Tiers in Patch 10.2
Welcome to another exciting update from WowCarry! In this week's Wow PTR build, we've uncovered some valuable information about a new mechanism that will allow players to trade up lower tier crests into higher level versions. These new consumables will contain 15 Wyrms, Drakes, or Aspects Crests, which can be used for upgrading gear in the highly anticipated Dragonflight Patch 10.2. This is a significant change that will enhance the gameplay experience for all WoW enthusiasts.
The Crest Trading System
Under the new system, players will no longer have to worry about accumulating inventory space with crests as they are now considered a currency. This adjustment is a notable improvement, allowing players to focus more on their gameplay instead of managing inventory. Furthermore, fragments have been entirely removed, streamlining the upgrade process.
One exciting aspect of this new mechanism is the ability to trade up lower-level crests for higher-level ones. However, Blizzard has not yet announced the specific restrictions or conversion rates. It's important to note that each bracket will have a minimum item level requirement beyond which the previous crest will no longer be useful.
Upgrade Tracks and Eligibility
In the upcoming patch, the Hero upgrade track will be increased to 6 (from the previous 5), while the Myth upgrade track will be increased to 4 (previously 3). This change adds depth to the game and provides players with more opportunities to enhance their gear.
To illustrate the potential of the new upgrade system, let's consider Season 2 item level numbers. Once your gear slots reach item level 411, you become eligible to trade Whelpling Crests up for Drake Crests. At item level 424, you can trade up to Wyrm Crests. Finally, at item level 437, Aspect Crest trading becomes available.
PvP Upgrades and Crest Rewards
In addition to gear upgrades, players can now also upgrade PvP gear using Flightstones and Crests. Previously, honor was the primary resource, but now Flightstones will be the key to upgrading PvP gear. Crests, on the other hand, can be earned through various rated activities.
It's worth noting that the weekly Crest cap has been reduced to 90. Each week, players will be able to purchase a maximum of 6 upgrades, compared to the previous limit of 10 upgrades. This adjustment ensures a fair distribution of rewards and encourages players to engage in a wide range of activities.
TheSatchel of Drake's Dreaming Crests
Another exciting revelation is the existence of a second version of the Satchel of Drake's Dreaming Crests. Unlike other crests, these particular ones ignore the seasonal cap. However, it appears that obtaining these crests is tied to the "Stones Can't Fly!" achievement. While this achievement can be easily unlocked after completing introductory quest content, it remains to be seen if there are more crests that surpass the seasonal cap.
Originally in Patch 10.1, the same achievement also rewarded players with a single Drake's Shadowflame Crest, which was the equivalent of 15 Crests in Patch 10.2. However, with the shift from Fragments to a direct Crest cap in Patch 10.2, this new version of the achievement seems to serve as a failsafe, preventing newer players from accidentally exceeding their Crest limit and wasting their reward.
Final Thoughts
The upcoming trading system for crests in Patch 10.2 is an exciting addition to the game. It not only allows players to continue to progress their characters through lower-tier activities but also reduces the burden of inventory management. The increased upgrade tracks and the introduction of new valuable crests further enhance the gameplay experience. We can't wait to dive into Dragonflight Patch 10.2 and fully explore these exciting developments!
