September 17, 2023 2 minutes

Gorehowl, Might of the Warchief, is an impressive rendition of one of the most legendary weapons in the illustrious history of World of Warcraft. This remarkable axe has the potential to drop as a reward from the formidable Dawn of the Infinite mega-dungeon. Intriguingly, players have uncovered an Easter Egg associated with Gorehowl – the ability to summon the spirit of Grommash Hellscream! Our heartfelt gratitude to Conmanw for unearthing this fascinating information!

The Legacy of Gorehowl

Forged especially for the esteemed chieftains of the Warsong clan, Gorehowl achieved profound notoriety through the hands of Grommash Hellscream. It was Grommash himself who wielded this formidable weapon to cleave open the skull of the pit lord Mannaroth, effectively liberating the orcs from the torments of the blood curse. Following in his father's footsteps, Garrosh Hellscream went on to claim Gorehowl as his own and continue its legacy.

The Origins of Gorehowl

This awe-inspiring axe can be obtained as a drop from the exhilarating Time-Lost Battlefield encounter within the Dawn of the Infinite mega-dungeon. In this dynamic battle, a variant universe version of Grommash Hellscream leads the Horde in an unrelenting conflict against an Alliance commanded by the alternate reality Anduin Lothar.

Summoning the Spirit of Grommash Hellscream

To witness the spectral manifestation of Grommash Hellscream, players must fulfill specific requirements. Firstly, you must assume the role of an Orc or the noble Mag'har Orc race. Additionally, you need to display your loyalty to the Warsong clan by selecting the Warsong banner during the Heritage armor questline. Lastly, ensure that you possess Gorehowl, Might of the Warchief, either within your bags or equipped.

Once these prerequisites have been satisfactorily met, the spirit of Grommash Hellscream will occasionally materialize to offer a salutation to the fortunate wielder of Gorehowl. Such a remarkable encounter adds a touch of mystique to this already formidable weapon.

A Salute from the Spirit

While exact details of the spirit's appearance are yet to be completely documented, players have reported instances where Grommash Hellscream's spectral form appears before them, gesturing a respectful salute. This enchanting interaction serves as a testament to the power and significance of Gorehowl, solidifying its place as an iconic artifact within the World of Warcraft universe.
