Live Adjustments for Delightful Discoverers and Troublesome Nightmares

April 09, 2024 2 minutes

Greetings adventurers!

We’re thrilled to see how much you all have been enjoying the Nightmare Incursions in our Season of Discovery! However, we wanted to give you a heads up about an upcoming change that we plan to implement next week. We have noticed that the Incursions are currently providing significantly more experience compared to other leveling methods between levels 40 and 50. While we want the Incursions to be valuable, we don't want them to overshadow other content during this phase of the game. Therefore, we will be making some adjustments to ensure a better balance.

The Adjustments

On Monday, we will be increasing the XP bonus offered by Discoverer’s Delight from 50% to around 75% for levels 40 to 49. This change is intended to make other activities more appealing and on par with the Incursions. However, to balance this increase, we will also be reducing the amount of experience gained from mission quests specifically in the Nightmare Incursions.

It is important to note that while mission quests will grant less experience, the creatures within the Nightmare will still provide increased XP due to Discoverer’s Delight. In fact, these creatures already have a higher XP multiplier. Therefore, kill quests within the Nightmare will become more lucrative compared to collection or interaction quests. This adjustment aims to create a better balance and address any existing imbalance.

Our Objective

We absolutely love the Nightmare Incursions and the excitement they bring to our Season of Discovery. However, we understand that the current experience gain from these events may be too overwhelming and could potentially become monotonous for players leveling multiple characters. Our goal is to maintain the rewarding nature of the Incursions while also encouraging players to engage in other activities such as questing and dungeons.

We felt that the changes mentioned above strike the right balance between keeping the Incursions rewarding and ensuring that all aspects of the game are explored without sacrificing efficiency.

What to Expect

We wanted to inform you about these adjustments in advance so that you can make the most of the Incursions as they are currently before we make the necessary changes on Monday. If you have been enjoying the Incursions, feel free to continue participating in them throughout the rest of the weekend.

We want to express our gratitude to all of you for being a part of our Season of Discovery experiment. Sometimes, certain aspects of the game require adjustments to ensure a smoother experience, and we appreciate your patience as we work together to create the best gaming experience possible.

We are excited for all of you to delve into the Sunken Temple this weekend, and we look forward to sharing more details about Phase 4 as we approach its release.

Thank you, and enjoy your weekend!
