WotLK Classic - October 25 Hotfixes

October 26, 2023 3 minutes

Greetings, adventurers!

WowCarry here with some exciting news for all of you Wrath of the Lich King Classic players. Blizzard has just released a series of hotfixes that address several issues, including the Sinister Calling problem for the Halloween Achievement. In addition, they have made a level adjustment to the Random Dungeon Finder for lower-level dungeons and fixed a bug related to the Death Knight Tier 10 set bonus.

New Level Range for Random Dungeon Finder

Blizzard has made some adjustments to the logic controlling the levels at which player-characters are allowed to queue for dungeons in the Random Dungeon Finder. These changes ensure that the level range displayed in the finder is more accurate. Now, all classic dungeons have a level range of roughly 8 levels, allowing you to queue from 3 levels below the final boss's level to 5 levels above it. Burning Crusade dungeons now have a range from 3 levels below the end boss to 3 or 4 levels above it. Finally, Wrath dungeons start the range at 3 levels below the end boss.

  • Developers’ Notes:

The main goal of these changes is to address situations where players' levels were significantly lower than the rest of the group. By adjusting the minimum level requirement for some dungeons, Blizzard aims to create a more balanced experience for everyone involved.

Bug Fixes

  • Masked Orphan Matrons and the Headless Horseman's Fire Events

One of the bugs that Blizzard has fixed is related to the Masked Orphan Matrons and their ability to start the Headless Horseman's fire events in various towns. This issue sometimes prevented the events from starting, causing frustration among players. With this fix, players can now complete these events without any issues.

  • Talon King Ikiss in Sethekk Halls

Another bug that has been addressed is the one that prevented Talon King Ikiss in Sethekk Halls from granting completion credit for the dungeon in the Random Dungeon Finder. This bug caused confusion for players who were unable to receive credit for completing the dungeon. Thanks to Blizzard's hard work, this bug is now a thing of the past.

  • Death Knight Tier 10 Set Bonus

Blizzard has also fixed a bug that was affecting Death Knights' tier 10 Sanctified Scourgelord 4-piece damage bonus. This bug was preventing the bonus from working properly, impacting the overall performance of Death Knights. Now, with this bug fix, Death Knights can unleash their full potential in battle.

Changes to "Hallowed Be Thy Name" Achievement

The "Sinister Calling" step has been removed from the "Hallowed Be Thy Name" achievement. Blizzard has been working on a permanent fix for the underlying issue, but in the meantime, they have decided to remove this step to alleviate immediate concerns for players participating in Hallow's End.

  • Developers’ Notes:

Blizzard understands that Hallow's End is a special time for all adventurers and wants to ensure that the event is enjoyable for everyone. They are committed to providing the best gaming experience possible and are actively working on a permanent solution to the issue related to the "Sinister Calling" step of the achievement.

That concludes our overview of the latest hotfixes for Wrath of the Lich King Classic. We hope these changes improve your gaming experience and fix any issues you may have encountered.
