Patch 10.2 Increases Crafting Requirement for Aspect Enchanted Crests

October 18, 2023 2 minutes

Hey there WoW adventurers! It's WowCarry here, and I've got some important news for you regarding the latest 10.2 build. Brace yourselves, because the amount of Crests required to create an Enchanted Crest has been increased!

But hold on, there's more! It seems that the item level of Aspect Crafted gear has also received a boost. So, while you'll need more Crests, the gear itself will be more powerful. It's a bit of a mixed bag, isn't it?

Increased Crest Requirement

On the Patch 10.2 PTR, the amount of Crests needed to create an Enchanted Aspect's Dreaming Crest has soared to 60, as opposed to the previous requirement of 45. This means that obtaining Enchanted Crests will be a more challenging task for players.

Moreover, the cost of crafted gear has skyrocketed, making it even more expensive for players to get their hands on these powerful items. As if that wasn't enough, the weekly allotment of Crests has been reduced from 150 to 90. This means that players will now have fewer Crests to work with, which makes the process of obtaining crafted gear even more demanding.

To convert your Crests into Enchanted Crests, you'll need to head over to the Enchanting vendor in Valdrakken. Here's a breakdown of the costs:

Crest Crest Type # of Crests Needed
Enchanted Aspect's Dreaming Crest Aspect's Dreaming Crest (was 45) 60
Enchanted Wyrm's Dreaming Crest Wyrm's Dreaming Crest (was 30) 45
Enchanted Whelpling's Dreaming Crest Whelpling's Dreaming Crest (was 15) 30

As you can see, the Enchanted Aspect's Dreaming Crest now requires a whopping 60 Aspect's Dreaming Crests. The other Crests also require more of their respective counterparts. This makes upgrading to Enchanted gear a much more arduous task.

It's worth noting that the Enchanted Wyrm's Dreaming Crest is cheaper in Patch 10.2. However, keep in mind that if you plan on upgrading it to Aspect in the future, you may end up wasting Crests. So, choose your upgrades wisely!

Weekly Crest Limit

If you're someone who aims for top-tier gear, you need to be aware that creating a crafted piece will now consume two-thirds of your weekly allotment of Aspect Crests. This means that you'll have to be strategic in your usage and plan your upgrades carefully.

With these changes, Blizzard has certainly made obtaining and upgrading crafted gear a more challenging endeavor. Players will need to carefully manage their Crests and make smart choices when it comes to selecting upgrades.

Final Thoughts

The increased Crest requirement and reduced weekly Crest allotment definitely present new challenges for WoW players in Patch 10.2. However, it also adds a layer of depth and strategy to the game. It will be interesting to see how players adapt and overcome these obstacles in their pursuit of the best gear out there. Good luck, adventurers!
