Sockets are more likely to roll a colour corresponding to the attributes of the equipment being altered. Colours would be totally random (depending on the stats requirements on your armor) after you use Chromatic Orb on item or if you want to avoid randomness, you can use the Crafting Bench (you can find the recipe in Delve mine), in any case, we recommend to buy more orbs to have some stock, cause we always need to recolor gear.
