April 19, 2024 6 minutes

Blizzard has recently released the Dragonflight Season 4 Patch Notes, and it's packed with exciting new features and updates for World of Warcraft players. In this article, we'll dive into the details of the patch, including the Bullion Acquisition system and the changes to dungeons and raids.

Dragonflight Season 4

Dragonflight Season 4 is set to launch on April 23, bringing a host of new content and rewards for players to enjoy. This season introduces the new Mythic+ dungeon rotation, challenging raids, PvP season, and The War Within. Players can expect powerful rewards that showcase the best of what the Dragonflight expansion has to offer.

  • Awakened Raids

One of the highlights of Dragonflight Season 4 is the introduction of Awakened Raids. Every two weeks, one of the three Dragonflight raids will become Awakened: Vault of the Incarnates, Aberrus, the Shadowed Crucible, or Amirdrassil, the Dream's Hope. These Awakened raids offer tougher enemies and upgraded loot with a higher item level. The schedule for Awakened raids is as follows:

  • Week 1 & 2: Vault of the Incarnates
  • Week 3 & 4: Aberrus, the Shadow Crucible
  • Week 5 & 6: Amirdrassil, the Dream's Hope
  • Week 7+: All raids are Awakened

During an Awakened raid, a reputation gain buff will be activated for the corresponding Dragonflight reputations. For example, when Vault of the Incarnates is Awakened, the reputation gain for Dragonscale Expedition, Maruuk Centaur, and Iskaara Tuskaar will increase. All three Awakened raids will also drop a new tier token that can be exchanged for new tier pieces.

  • Bullion Acquisition

Dragonflight Season 4 introduces the Bullion Acquisition system, which allows players to earn Antique Bronze Bullion by defeating Awakened bosses. Players can earn 1 Bullion per week, with the weekly cap increasing by 1 each week. If you miss a week, you can catch up to the current weekly maximum.

These Bullion can be exchanged for weapons and powerful items from the Dragonflight raids at vendors located in the Parting Glass in Valdrakken. Additionally, there is an NPC nearby that sells the Jigglesworth Sr mount for 3 Bullion, as well as cosmetics that grant players the choice of any raid weapon appearance at any difficulty color for 1 Bullion each.

Players who have previously obtained legendary items can purchase a Scale of Awakening to upgrade their items to the Season 4 item levels. The base item level is 502, and it can be further upgraded through Crests and Flightstones.

  • Rewards

Completing all three Awakened Dragonflight raids on Normal difficulty rewards players with the Voyaging Wildering dynamic flying mount. For those who complete the raids on Heroic difficulty, the "Awakened Hero" title is awarded. And for players who conquer the raids on Mythic difficulty, they receive Path Portals to the three raids.

Mythic+

In Season 4, players can return to all eight Dragonflight dungeons to experience a refined and rewarding progression curve for Heroic, Mythic, and Mythic+ difficulties. The dungeons included in this rotation are: Ruby Life Pools, Brackenhide Hollow, The Nokhud Offensive, Uldaman: Legacy of Tyr, Neltharus, The Azure Vault, Halls of Infusion, and Algeth’ar Academy.

  • Rewards

Dedicated defenders can earn the Keystone Master mount, Infinite Armoredon, by completing the Dragonflight Keystone Master: Season 4 achievement. Players can also obtain the title "The Draconic" by reaching a Mythic+ Rating of 1500 during Dragonflight Season 4.

For those who truly excel in Mythic+ dungeons, the achievement Draconic Hero: Dragonflight Season 4 is awarded to players who reach a Mythic+ Rating in the top 0.1% of all players in their region. This achievement comes with the prestigious title "The Draconic Hero".

Player Versus Player

PvP enthusiasts have a lot to look forward to in Season 4. The PvP rankings will be reset, and new gear sets, mounts, and titles will be introduced. Players can earn the Vicious Dreamtalon mount for Rated Arena and Rated Battlegrounds, as well as the Draconic Gladiator's Drake and the "Draconic Gladiator" title by completing the Draconic Gladiator: Dragonflight Season 4 achievement.

Those who prove themselves to be the best of the best in PvP can earn the "Draconic Legend" title by attaining the Draconic Legend: Dragonflight Season 4 achievement and ending the season in the top 0.1% of the Solo Shuffle ladder.

Dungeon Changes

The Dragonflight Season 4 patch brings significant changes to dungeons, their progression, and rewards. One notable change is the removal of the timer for Mythic Keystone dungeons at levels 0 and 10. This allows players to run through these dungeons at their own pace without the pressure of a timer.

The difficulty and rewards for Heroic dungeons will now match the current level of Mythic 0 dungeons. The item level requirement to queue for Heroic dungeons will also increase accordingly. Mythic 0 dungeons will now have the difficulty and rewards equivalent to a +10 dungeon with affixes.

The existing Mythic+ system will continue from where it left off, with rewards up to level 10. The affixes for Mythic+ dungeons will start at +2, +5, and +10. The range of keystone levels available for groups will be smaller, allowing for more meaningful progression between each level.

Some changes have also been made to dungeon rewards, such as Crest and Flightstone earnings matching the difficulty of Mythic+ dungeons from previous seasons. Whelpling Crests are no longer available from Mythic+ dungeons, but players can collect them from outdoor sources. Drake Crests and Aspect Crests will be available in specific Mythic+ dungeons.

Northrend Cup

For the dragonrider enthusiasts, the Northrend Cup event will take place from April 30 to May 14. This event features twelve dragonrider races across Northrend, including Normal, Advanced, and Reverse variations. Players can earn Riders of Azeroth Badges by completing these races and exchange them for rewards with Maztha in Valdrakken. Achieving Gold in all Northrend Cup races grants players the Northrend Racing Completionist: Gold achievement, the Northrend Racer title, and the Ruby Riders of Azeroth tabard.

New rewards, such as the Icy Drake Racer's transmog set and Checkered Pennant, are available for purchase with Riders of Azeroth Badges.

Class Changes

As part of the balancing efforts, some adjustments have been made to healer classes. In Season 4, the overall throughput of some healers, such as Restoration Druid, Mistweaver Monk, and Restoration Shaman, has been reduced to align better with tuning goals. This adjustment aims to further elevate the power of Holy Paladin, Preservation Evoker, and Holy Priest without escalating the capabilities of healers even further.

Other class changes include specific adjustments to Atonement healing for Discipline Priests, and reductions in healing done for Mistweaver Monks and Restoration Shamans. These changes primarily apply to PvE content and will not affect healing in PvP combat.

Conclusion

The Dragonflight Season 4 Patch brings a wealth of new content and updates to World of Warcraft. With Awakened Raids, the Bullion Acquisition system, revised dungeons and raids, new Mythic+ rewards, and a thrilling PvP season, there's plenty for players to enjoy. So gear up, rally your allies, and embark on new challenges as you delve into the exciting world of Dragonflight Season 4.
