Dungeon Trinkets

  • Algeth'ar Puzzle Box

Before Changes: Pretty strong for 3-minute burst specializations, as it paired incredibly well with large burst cooldowns such as Army of the Dead and Summon Gargoyle for Unholy Death Knights.

After Changes: With the change to its duration and reduction in Mastery, it lost some of its potency when paired with shorter duration cooldowns. While still strong, other trinkets may now outshine it.

  • Umbrelskul's Fractured Heart

Before Changes: A relatively weak trinket with low proc rate and damage output. The on-death effect rarely activated.

After Changes: The trinket underwent a complete rework, resulting in increased proc rate and higher baseline damage. It can now compete with other trinkets of similar item level and has improved AoE potential.

  • Globe of Jagged Ice

Before Changes: This trinket required constant attention due to its cooldown and interference with other on-use trinkets. It was generally undesirable.

After Changes: The trinket was completely reworked to be lower maintenance and no longer interfere with other trinkets, but it still falls short compared to many alternative options.

  • Water's Beating Heart

Before Changes: Fairly bad in most scenarios due to its long cooldown, small armor value, and minimal healing.

After Changes: The trinket was reworked to have a more practical niche and can now serve as a raid external when stacked with a group. However, it still comes with a movement speed slow.

  • Mutated Magmammoth Scale

Before Changes: Fairly average in terms of damage potential, performing well in both single-target and AoE scenarios.

After Changes: The damage was nerfed, but the trinket now scales with Haste. It can still perform well in AoE with good luck on proc timing, but remains lackluster in single-target.

  • Granyth's Enduring Scale

Before Changes: A mediocre trinket with RNG defensive benefits and a small damage effect, lacking flexibility and consistency.

After Changes: The trinket was completely reworked to function as both a defensive and offensive combo trinket. It now has increased damage output and offers more value for tanks.

  • Kyrakka's Searing Embers

Before Changes: An underwhelming trinket due to low proc rate and inconsistent performance.

After Changes: The trinket's proc rate was increased significantly, leading to more frequent procs. While the healing and damage were reduced, it now provides more consistent value.

  • Inexorable Resonator

Before Changes: A trinket that was generally ineffective defensively and offensively compared to other options.

After Changes: The trinket underwent a complete rework, but still has some issues. It only deals damage while the shield is active and often procs when the player doesn't need a defensive benefit.

  • Tome of Unstable Power

Before Changes: Limited by its ground effect mechanic, requiring the player to stand in place for 15 seconds to maximize its power.

After Changes: The trinket was completely reworked to mimic Mage's Mirror Image, performing well in AoE scenarios but struggling in single-target situations.

Raid Trinkets

  • Conjured Chillglobe

Before Changes: A potent trinket for Caster DPS specializations, particularly Mages. It also served as an option for mana restoration for healers.

After Changes: The trinket remains potent for DPS specializations, but its appeal to healers has decreased due to reduced mana regen potential.

  • Storm-Eater's Boon

Before Changes: Great in AoE but lacking in single-target scenarios. It rooted the player in place for 10 seconds but allowed casting.

After Changes: The changes negatively impacted its performance, reducing its potential damage output in all scenarios. It can still be useful for immuning forced movement effects, but it carries risks.

  • Whispering Incarnate Icon

Before Changes: One of the best trinkets in Vault of the Incarnates for almost everyone.

After Changes: While still strong, it is now more balanced compared to other trinkets. It may not be as appealing for healers and tanks due to reduced party benefits after the nerfs.

  • Manic Grieftorch

Before Changes: One of the best trinkets for single-target damage and benefited significantly from raid deaths in progression raiding.

After Changes: The changes have little impact on this powerful trinket. While not being able to use it during the Global Cooldown hinders it slightly, it remains competitive or even better than other single-target damage trinkets. Its ability to be cast while moving adds more freedom for players.

  • Ominous Chromatic Essence

Before Changes: Among the best trinkets in Aberrus, the Shadowed Crucible.

After Changes: The shared stats were nerfed, but the trinket remains strong and can be utilized by all DPS players without tank and healer requirements. Group composition should be considered when deciding to use this trinket.

  • Ward of Faceless Ire

Before Changes: A good healer trinket that served as a DPS trinket and external defensive cooldown for other players.

After Changes: The changes have a neutral impact on damage output but significantly increase the defensive benefit. It can be a good choice when healers can sacrifice some defensive or healing value for more damage.

  • Enduring Dreadplate

Before Changes: A decent trinket for tank defensive and offensive capabilities.

After Changes: The changes allow all remaining stacks to rupture upon expiration of the buff, increasing its offensive power in certain scenarios. It performs well as an offensive and defensive combination trinket in AoE situations.

  • Rashok's Molten Heart

Before Changes: Incredibly potent for healers, restoring mana and increasing healing with a Versatility buff.

After Changes: The nerfs significantly reduce the benefits of this trinket, making it less desirable overall.

  • Dragonfire Bomb Dispenser

Before Changes: Among the best trinkets for Agility specs.

After Changes: While still good, it has lost some value compared to its previous version. The damage reduction and increased internal cooldown make it less effective in both single-target and AoE scenarios.

  • Neltharion's Call to Chaos

Before Changes: Highly subjective based on specialization rotation and talent build.

After Changes: The nerf will disproportionally affect some specializations' value of this trinket in single-target scenarios. Check your specialization's guide for specific value.

  • Neltharion's Call to Dominance

Before Changes: Highly subjective based on specialization, with Warlocks benefiting the most.

After Changes: While still strong for most specializations, Warlocks were heavily affected by the changes and may no longer find it as viable. Check your specialization's guide for specific value.
