Dragons Awaken: A Raid Journey - Dragonflight Season 4

April 19, 2024 3 minutes

Hey there, WoW adventurers! Exciting news has just been announced - Dragonflight Season 4 is on its way! Blizzard has revealed that starting from the week of June 4th, all Dragonflight raids will be Awakened. This means that players will have limited opportunities to overgear raids during Season 4. Many players were hoping to take advantage of this extra power to farm transmogs, mounts, and manuscripts that they may have missed. However, with the recent rotation announcement, the window of opportunity is now heavily reduced.

Dragonflight Season 4 has been dubbed a "Victory Lap" by Blizzard, and players were looking forward to maximizing their gains by overgearing raids. But starting on the 7th lockout of the season, all raids will be Awakened. As a result, players will only have four weeks to tackle the raids before they become Awakened. This assumes that the Awakened system in Dragonflight is similar to the Fated system in Shadowlands. In Shadowlands, once raids became Fated, players couldn't turn it off. Whether this will be the case in Dragonflight Season 4 remains uncertain.

The Impact on Rewards

One of the major impacts of this rotation is the effect it will have on the rewards obtainable from Dragonflight raids. Here are some of the rewards that will be affected:

  • Reins of Anu'relos, Flame's Guidance - Guaranteed drop from Mythic Fyrakk
  • Renewed Proto-Drake: Embodiment of the Blazing - Drop from Fyrakk
  • Fyr'alath the Dreamrender - Increased chance from Mythic Fyrakk
  • Highland Drake: Embodiment of the Hellforged - Guaranteed drop from Mythic Sarkareth
  • Nasz'uro, the Unbound Legacy - Increased chance from Mythic Sarkareth
  • Renewed Proto-Drake: Embodiment of the Storm-Eater - Drop from Raszageth
  • Mythic Transmog sets from all three raids

These rewards will become harder to obtain once the Awakened rotation begins. So, make sure to plan your raiding schedule accordingly to increase your chances of collecting these valuable items!

The Awakened Rotation Schedule

During Dragonflight Season 4, each of the three Dragonflight raids will become Awakened for a two-week period. This rotation schedule will repeat throughout the season:

Weeks Awakened Raid
1 & 2 Vault of the Incarnates
3 & 4 Aberrus, the Shadowed Crucible
5 & 6 Amirdrassil, the Dream's Hope
7+ All raids are Awakened

This rotation will give players the chance to face stronger enemies within the Awakened raids while also providing them with upgraded loot of a higher item level. So, make sure to plan your strategy and gear up accordingly during these specific weeks!

Final Thoughts

As Dragonflight Season 4 approaches, it's important for players to be aware of the upcoming changes to the raiding experience. With the Awakened rotation, the opportunity to overgear raids and farm valuable rewards will be limited. Make sure to take advantage of the initial non-Awakened weeks and plan your raiding schedule accordingly. Best of luck to all adventurers on their Dragonflight journey!
