Picks and Bans - How the Series Works
Now, let's get into the nitty-gritty of this exciting tournament format. Each series begins with a map ban phase, and the higher seeded team takes the first move by banning one of the fifteen available maps. The banning process alternates between the teams until eight maps have been eliminated, leaving the teams with seven options to choose from. Following the map ban phase, the teams enter the map pick phase, where they take turns selecting the maps they want to play. This continues until only one map remains, which will be played first.
After the conclusion of the first map, the losing team gets to choose one of their three remaining picks for the next match. This is followed by the winning team's draft, and then the losing team's draft. The process repeats until one team wins three maps and emerges as the victor of the series, thus advancing to the next bracket.
