Diablo 3 Season 31 - Embrace of the Forbidden Archives Begins April 12th
The forces of darkness gather once again, signaling the arrival of Diablo 3 Season 31. Commencing on April 12th at 5 PM PDT, players will dive into an old theme that holds a special place in the hearts of many. The Season Theme for Season 31 is the Forbidden Archives, and it seems that Zoltun Kulle is taking center stage in both Diablo 3 and Diablo 4! Whether you are a seasoned player or a newcomer, this season promises an abundance of character build diversity and exciting combinations that were previously unthinkable. Prepare to unleash your creativity and embark on an exhilarating adventure in Sanctuary!
Season 31: The Season of the Forbidden Archives
The Season of the Forbidden Archives, which first made its appearance in Season 20, will be the focal point of Season 31. The ancient artifact known as Kanai's Cube holds immense power, and Zoltun Kulle, the celebrated yet reviled Horadrim, has thoroughly explored its potential. Kulle successfully unlocked and harnessed the Cube's power, allowing him to absorb and record the energies of powerful items. In Season 31, players will have a unique opportunity to tap into Kulle's experiments and harness his unchecked power.
During Season 31, the usual restrictions on the slots in Kanai's Cube will be lifted. Normally, players can equip one power each from the Weapon, Armor, and Jewelry categories. However, in this season, players will have the freedom to mix and match powers across all three categories. This opens up a whole new world of build possibilities, allowing players to experiment with fascinating combinations. From running two Weapon powers with one Armor power to utilizing three Amulet powers, the choice is entirely yours!
Season 31 Cosmetic Rewards
In addition to the excitement of the Forbidden Archives, Season 31 brings back the rewards from Season 7. These rewards will be available as part of the Season Journey. However, for those who have already obtained these rewards, fret not! Season 31 offers two brand-new cosmetic rewards for completing the entire Season Journey — the Valor Portrait Frame and the Angelic Treasure Goblin pet.
The Conqueror Set, which consists of the Helm and Shoulders slots, will grant players access to a series of portrait frames that capture the chilling essence of the Eternal Woods. And if you find yourself in need of some warmth during your perilous adventures, the fiery Dream of Piers pet will ensure you stay cozy (when it's not busy scaring the local creatures).
Season Journey Rewards
For those dedicated Nephalem who have reached the Conqueror tier in previous Seasons, you may have acquired additional stash tabs along the way. In Season 31, you can earn one extra stash tab by completing the Conqueror tier, up to a maximum of five stash tabs.
The Conqueror tier challenges include:
- Guardian of Sanctuary: Finish a level 70 Nephalem Rift on Torment XIII within five minutes.
- Gem of My Life: Level three Legendary Gems to level 55.
- All I Do Is Win: Complete two Conquests this Season.

Seasonal Conquest
If you're looking for an extra challenge in Season 31, the Seasonal Conquest offers exciting opportunities. Returning this season is the "Sprinter/Speed Racer" conquest, where you must complete the entire Diablo III campaign from Act I to Act V at level 70 in under one hour. Another conquest, "Avarice/Avaritia," challenges you to achieve a 50 million gold streak outside of The Vault or its Inner Sanctum.
For those seeking to upgrade Legendary Gems, the "On a Good Day/I Can't Stop" conquest requires you to level three Legendary Gems to level 65. If you're up for an ultimate test of your skills, aim to reach Greater Rift level 75 to complete the "Divinity/Lionhearted" conquest. And for those who enjoy unconventional builds, the "The Thrill/Superhuman" conquest demands that you complete a Greater Rift level 45, solo and without any Set items equipped.
