Mastercrafted - Exciting Crafting System Bringing Freshness to Diablo 4 Season 4

March 21, 2024 2 minutes

Hey there, adventurers! Welcome back to the WowCarry blog. Today, we have some exciting news for all you Diablo 4 fans out there. During Blizzard's Season 4 Campfire Chat livestream, they announced not one, but two new crafting systems that will revolutionize late-game item acquisition and customization in the game. Besides the previously discussed Tempering system, Blizzard introduced us to the Masterworking system, designed specifically for upgrading your late-game items and even Unique items.

Introducing Masterworking

Masterworking is a crafting system that aims to enhance your gear and take it to the next level. Similar to the old Gear Upgrade system, Masterworking allows you to increase the values of the affixes on an item, making it even more powerful and tailored to your playstyle.

The Masterworking system consists of 12 Upgrade Ranks in total. Upgrade Ranks 1 to 11 will improve all affix values by approximately 5%. These incremental upgrades will gradually enhance your item's overall stats, making it more formidable in battle.

Every fourth rank, namely Upgrade Ranks 4, 8, and 12, provides a significant boost by improving one random affix value by a whopping 25%. This means that not only will your item become more well-rounded, but it will also receive occasional spikes in specific affixes that can greatly impact your gameplay.

To better illustrate this, let's take an example. At Upgrade Rank 2 and 3, all three affixes on an item will receive a 5% improvement. However, when you reach Upgrade Rank 4, one particular affix will receive a massive 20% increase. This allows for deeper customization and the opportunity to focus on specific attributes that benefit your character the most.

Improving Tempered Affixes

It's worth noting that the Masterworking system also has the ability to improve Tempered Affixes. While this wasn't explicitly shown in the livestream, it is implied that Tempered Affixes can also be enhanced through the Masterworking process. This opens up even more possibilities for fine-tuning your gear to perfection.

End-Game Dungeon Challenge: The Pit

If you're wondering where you can acquire these Masterworking materials, look no further than the Pit - a brand new end-game dungeon challenge coming to Diablo 4 in Season 4. This treacherous dungeon is filled with terrifying monsters and formidable bosses, and it promises to put your skills to the ultimate test.

Upon defeating the boss within the time limit and completing the Mastery objective of the dungeon, you will be rewarded with Masterworking materials. These materials are essential for upgrading your late-game items, making successful runs through the Pit incredibly valuable.

So, adventurers, gear up and prepare for the challenges ahead. With the Masterworking system and the Pit dungeon, Diablo 4 is set to deliver an even more thrilling and customizable end-game experience. Stay tuned for more updates and guides as we delve deeper into the world of Diablo 4. Happy hunting!
