• What to Expect

The Kalimdor Grand Prix offers a unique racing experience that combines the thrill of Dragonriding with the challenging topography of the various Kalimdor zones. As a participant, you'll be provided with a rental mount, the Riders of Azeroth Drake, a majestic creature reminiscent of the Highland Drake's default skin. There are 16 races in total, spanning across different zones, each presenting its unique challenges and thrilling moments.

• Race Locations

The races are spread across various captivating zones in Kalimdor. For the adventurous, the Ahn'Qiraj Circuit in Silithus and Desolace Drift in Desolace offer thrilling experiences. Those seeking a more rustic landscape can explore the Barrens Divide Dive in Southern Barrens and the Durotar Tour in Durotar. Felwood's Fel Flyover and the Feralas Ruins Ramble in Feralas allow riders to take in nature's stark beauty. More races can be found in other zones, including Mount Hyjal, Ashenvale, Uldum, Un'Goro Crater, Stonetalon Mountains, and Winterspring.

• Introductory Races

To ensure a smooth start into this new venture, the Kalimdor Grand Prix introduces players to the world of Dragonriding races through three exciting tutorial races: The Rocketway Ride in Azshara, the Thousand Needles Thread in Thousand Needles, and the Winter Wander in Winterspring. These initial races are part of the introduction quest, The Kalimdor Cup's Introduction, guiding players through the basics of Dragonriding racing and serving as the gateway to the full range of races.

Rewards and Achievements in the Kalimdor Grand Prix

• Riders of Azeroth Badges

Your participation and triumphs in the Kalimdor Grand Prix will be recognized and rewarded. Completing activities in the event earns you Riders of Azeroth Badges. These badges can be earned in various ways, including achieving specific race ratings. Completing the introductory quest awards you 10 badges, and you can earn additional badges by obtaining gold times in Normal, Advanced, and Reverse versions of each race, totaling up to 9 badges per race.

• Cosmetic Rewards

The badges you earn can be traded for exclusive cosmetic rewards. At present, you can purchase a unique customization for the Windborne Velocidrake - Windborne Velocidrake: Teal Scales - for 30 badges. This captivating teal-colored variant of the dragon can truly make you stand out in the crowd. Additionally, the coveted Drake Racer Dragonriding transmog set is available for purchase. Each piece of this impressive set costs 15 badges, culminating to a total of 90 badges for the complete set.

• Achievements

But that's not all! Participants striving for excellence can target the special achievements associated with the Kalimdor Grand Prix. Master racers who manage to score gold times on all Kalimdor Grand Prix races will be rewarded with the meta achievement Kalimdor Racing Completionist: Gold. This high honor not only represents your racing prowess but also grants you the esteemed title of Kalimdor Racer.
