After an action-packed day of Mythic+ dungeon runs on live servers, we wanted to share our insights on the current difficulty levels of these challenging dungeons. Below is our tier list ranking the easiest and hardest Mythic+ dungeons for Season 3.

Season 3 Mythic+ Dungeon Tier List

Here is our current assessment of the easiest and hardest Mythic+ dungeons:

S Tier Atal'Dazar
A Tier Darkheart Thicket
Waycrest Manor
Black Rook Hold
B Tier -
C Tier Everbloom
Dungeons of the Initiate: Upper
Dungeons of the Initiate: Lower
D Tier -
F Tier Throne of the Tides

S Tier: Atal'Dazar

This dungeon poses minimal group-wide damage and has a relaxed timer. Previously challenging encounters from the BFA expansion have been significantly nerfed, resulting in fewer threatening moments. Interrupts are rarely required in this dungeon. While the Saurids and Juggernauts can still be deadly, the strategy known as "reverse snapping" can help prevent these mobs from executing their mechanics. Watch the video below for more details on how to use reverse snapping:

A Tier: Darkheart Thicket

Darkheart Thicket boasts a shorter timer, but its bosses and trash mobs have straightforward mechanics with few throughput checks. The only major time loss in this dungeon occurs if you die and have to release after the second boss, as there's only one checkpoint update throughout the entire dungeon, which happens after the first boss.

A Tier: Waycrest Manor

Waycrest Manor also offers a lenient timer. The Sanguine affix can be challenging, but the dungeon is generally safe aside from the Heartsbane Soulcharmer encounter. Be sure to interrupt the Soulcharmers whenever they appear. One thing to note is that the Soulbound Goliaths can still pose a threat, especially now that the Soul Thorns have increased health. The tank should avoid clearing Soul Harvest stacks while a Soul Thorns is active, and all players should focus on eliminating the Thorns efficiently.

A Tier: Black Rook Hold

Black Rook Hold features an incredibly lenient timer and few threatening mechanics. The Felspite Dominator gauntlet is the only thing that players need to worry about. Fel Frenzy can be interrupted, and players should pay attention to the Sic Bats to see where they are fixating. Carefully navigating this gauntlet makes Black Rook Hold an easy key.

C Tier: Everbloom

The reworked Everbloom dungeon can be extremely challenging if you're not prepared. Recent adjustments to the trash count require teams to pull more trash in the second area, which is particularly deadly. Many trash mobs have AoE abilities or one-shot mechanics. The second and third bosses also have high throughput and coordination checks, with specific priority interrupts and team coordination necessary to overcome them. It's crucial to have someone bait the Arcane Orb cast from the Addled Arcanomancer mobs, as well as carefully manage the second and third bosses to ensure success.

C Tier: Dungeons of the Initiate: Lower

Dungeons of the Initiate: Lower presents players with incredibly difficult trash encounters. Although the timer is forgiving, the second and third boss areas have some of the highest throughput checks for trash mobs. Players must be prepared to handle significant damage from Coalesced Time's Chronoburst, Enervate from Timestream Leech, and Tainted Sands from Coalesced Moment, among other deadly abilities. The Risen Dragons in the third area are especially challenging due to their Necrotic Outburst ability, which can quickly overwhelm unprepared groups.

C Tier: Dungeons of the Initiate: Upper

Dungeons of the Initiate: Upper also presents challenging encounters, with a tight timer for unprepared groups. In the sands area after the first boss, players must clear all the Infinite Riftmages to open the portals. However, the sands inflict significant damage, making this task particularly challenging. Additionally, the pack in front of the gauntlet and in front of the final boss, featuring Timeline Marauders and Infinite Watchkeepers, deals an overwhelming amount of damage. Healers must remain vigilant to keep the group alive. Finally, the Time-Lost Battlefield boss can be deadly, especially considering that he AoEs the group for a substantial amount of damage each time he kills a friendly NPC. Successful strategies involve baiting the boss's frontal attacks to the edge of the room and kiting his Blade Storm along the room's perimeter.

F Tier: Throne of the Tides

Currently, Throne of the Tides proves to be the hardest and most punishing dungeon. It requires high throughput from healers and has many one-shot mechanics. The trash encounters in this dungeon are particularly challenging, surpassing those in other currently available dungeons. Let's take a closer look at the bosses and trash mobs:

  • 1st boss: Lady Naz'jar

Lady Naz'jar presents throughput checks during AoE phases, but the most dangerous aspect for most players is navigating the swirlies and managing aggro.

  • 2nd boss: Commander Ulthok

Commander Ulthok requires healers to maintain high throughput, primarily due to the Festering Shockwave ability. However, players can mitigate this damage by LoS-ing around the pillars in the room.

  • 3rd boss: Mindbender Ghur'sha

This boss fight is mechanically straightforward, with the main objective being the destruction of the totem. If the totem is destroyed before the tank dies, the fight is won.

  • 4th boss: Ink of Ozumat

The Ink of Ozumat fight is mechanically simple but punishing for uncoordinated groups. The encounter is divided into cycles, where ink is dropped on the ground and two players must clear it using Cleansing Flux. Failure to clear all the ink within a cycle results in limited space and an eventual wipe. Efficient placement of ink drops is crucial for success.

Throne of the Tides presents deadly trash encounters as well:

  • Naz'jar Oracle's Healing Wave ability deals significant damage and must be stopped or interrupted.
  • Naz'jar Sentinel's Crushing Depths needs to be healed off, as the absorb amount is exceptionally high.
  • Vicious Snap Dragons, seemingly harmless AoE mobs, have a surprising amount of health. These mobs periodically fixate on players and inflict a nasty bleed effect with each auto-attack.
  • Naz'jar Ravager's Acid Barrage ability targets a random player, requiring the group to spread out to avoid multiple players being cleaved.
  • Faceless Watcher's Clenching Tentacles grip into a run-out mechanic, which can overlap with the Seer's rift blast mechanic, potentially resulting in player deaths.
  • Gilgoblin Hunters' spear abilities and Gilgoblin Aquamages' Aquablast ability can be devastating if cast successfully. These mobs often appear in packs of six, making them a formidable challenge.
  • Kilag Gorefang's Swell damage is amplified by Wave of Corruption whenever a smaller slime dies, resulting in substantial damage. This encounter takes place in a gauntlet with multiple small slimes.

Throne of the Tides is undoubtedly a brutal dungeon that demands exceptional coordination, interrupts, throughput, and more from players.
