Terros - Vault Of Incarnates Normal / Heroic / Mythic Raid Strategy Guide

December 15, 2022 6 minutes
This is a guide to the Terros fight in Vault of the Incarnates on Normal, Heroic, and Mythic difficulty.

Terros Normal Difficulty

This boss should be in a band because he rocks! Rock Blast targets one player, and it's a big old soak mechanic. You need a handful of people to get in to help soak unless the target has immunity. After the initial hit, move out of that spot because an Aftershock is coming.
Several people get marked with the Awakened Earth debuff, and they'll drop pillars after a few seconds. Everyone with that should try their best to gather in a line pointing toward the boss. The pillars radiate raid damage while they're up, and getting them in a narrow group will make them easier to clear.
Concussive Slam is a line attack he will aim at his tank. It'll get rid of any pillars it hits, so the current tank aims it at the spikes, and nobody else should get in the way.
Swap tanks right after this ability, too, as there's a nasty debuff. Shattering Impact is just stuff to dodge; watch your feet.
At 100 energy, Terros makes a cone attack: Resonating Annihilation that permanently ruins a big wedge of your floor. You have enough floor space to deal with this three times. If a fourth one goes out, you're all dead, and somebody's gonna have to do more damage next time.
On normal difficulty, that's it.

Terros Heroic Difficulty

On Heroic, the little swirls you're dodging: Fractured Rubble leave behind puddles: Resonant Aftermath, nothing too crazy.
It just limits the space even more. This mechanic requires you to have more DPS, which you should have in Heroic mode.

Terros Mythic Difficulty

Rock blast on Mythic damages everyone in the raid regardless of whether they're in it. The issue is if you're not in it, the damage doesn't split, so everyone just takes the total value of it. Thus, fewer soakers translate into more raid damage taken, which means you cannot do the hero play and run out to immune this ability because if you do so, the entire raid dies. This part of the mythic guide still needs to be completed. The rest of the Mythic changes are coming soon. Please, check in a few days.

Final Thoughts

And that's Terros! Thanks for reading. We hope this quick guide was helpful while fighting Terros in Vault of Incarnates. Have a wonderful day!

Blizzard has implemented a Fire Mage Rework on the War Within Alpha, focusing on addressing maintenance buffs and providing more choices in AoE abilities. The changes aim to simplify rotational complexity, offer adaptive damage profiles, and competitive choice nodes for players. Additionally, adjustments have been made to Sun King's Blessing and maintenance buffs like Firemind and Improved Scorch. Feedback on the new Fire talents is welcomed.
