Gnomeregan Raid Lockout Issue Resolved - Season of Exploration
Greetings, fellow adventurers!
Today, we have some important news to share with you regarding the Gnomeregan Raid Lockout in World of Warcraft Classic. There seems to be an issue with the lockout changing to a new 3-day system, resulting in some players being unable to reset the raid. However, fear not! The Blizzard team is already aware of this issue and is working diligently to find a fix.
As of today, Gnomeregan should have reset for players on NA Realms, and it will reset again in 2 days. The new lockout system matches the lockouts of Classic Era's Zul'Gurub, AQ20, and Season of Discovery's Blackfathom Deeps. This change was previously explained in a recent Blue Post. However, there have been reports from players who raided on Monday in NA that they are still saved to Gnomeregan, while players who raided on Sunday or earlier are able to enter the raid.
Investigating the Issue
The WoW Classic Team is fully aware of this issue and is actively investigating it. They apologize for any inconvenience caused and appreciate the community's patience. They are currently working on finding a solution and hope to have more information soon.
In the meantime, let's hear what some players have to say about this unexpected bug:
Peachdreams:
"I can’t recall a time in the past where they’ve actually changed from one raid lockout style to another for an instance that’s already released. So yeah, I’m not surprised they encountered an unexpected bug."
Indeed, this is the first time in World of Warcraft's history that a dungeon's lockout timer has been changed like this. Consequently, there was a degree of uncertainty regarding what would happen. Unfortunately, this particular issue was not encountered during the testing phase, but the team is actively working on resolving it.
It's worth noting that even if your Gnomeregan raid was reset this morning as expected, it is still correct behavior for your new Gnomeregan lockout to reset again on Thursday, Feb 22nd. This is because all raids with a 3-day lockout timer rollover and reset on the same day, a tradition that has been in place since 2005. Therefore, both Blackfathom Deeps (BFD) and Gnomeregan will now have the same reset days. Furthermore, these raids will also align with AQ20 and Zul'gurub in the future when those higher-level 3-day lockout raids become available in the Season of Discovery.
Fixing the Issue
Hello again, adventurers!
We have some good news to share regarding the Gnomeregan raid lockout issue. The WoW Classic Team has performed an operation on their database that should reset Gnomeregan raid lockouts for those who were saved on Feb 21st and incorrectly had their lockouts persist after this morning's maintenance.
If you ran Gnomeregan yesterday and are still seeing a raid lockout in your /raidinfo frame today, you may simply need to log out for several minutes for the lockout to correctly reset.
Going forward, Gnomeregan will follow the same reset schedule as Blackfathom Deeps. This means that the next reset will occur on Thursday, Feb 22nd, in North America and Australia. The following reset will then take place on Sunday, Feb 25th, and thereafter every 3 days.
Once again, we sincerely apologize for any confusion and inconvenience caused by this issue. We would like to thank you for your patience as we worked to resolve it. We hope you continue to enjoy your adventures in World of Warcraft Classic!
