Hey there! It's WowCarry, and I'm here to share some exciting news about the latest raid in Season of Discovery, which was previewed during Phase 3 by Blizzard. Get ready to venture into the challenging Temple of Atal'Hakkar, also known as Sunken Temple, on April 4th. This raid is a 20-player experience and offers a thrilling adventure with 8 epic boss fights, a plethora of new items and sets, as well as revamped Epic items and quest rewards!

The Temple of Atal'Hakkar: A New Raid Experience

The Temple of Atal'Hakkar (Sunken Temple) is the first 20-player raid in Season of Discovery. This redesigned raid brings to life the escalating tension between the trolls and dragons, offering players a chance to face 8 deadly bosses and uncover exciting new discoveries. As you navigate through the raid, you'll come across hundreds of new items and set pieces, tailored to suit your character's needs

  • Revamped Quest Rewards and Class Quests

In addition to the raid dungeon's challenges, players can also look forward to new class quest rewards and quest rewards within the Temple of Atal'Hakkar. The raid will continue to serve as the end point for many level 50 class quests, ensuring that there is always a sense of accomplishment in completing these quests. Blizzard has confirmed that the rewards will be upleveled to match the current content, making them relevant and rewarding for players.

  • Boss Encounters and Loot

During the Phase 3 preview, Blizzard gave us a sneak peek of four out of the eight boss encounters that await us in the Sunken Temple raid. These include the returning Atal'alarion, the patrol boss The Festering Rot Slime, the Jammal'an the Prophet & Ogom the Wretched encounter, and the infamous Shade of Eranikus. Each boss presents unique challenges and rewards.

As you defeat these fearsome foes, you'll come across new and revamped loot, such as the awe-inspiring Temple Explorer's Gun Axe. This two-handed axe allows the wielder to fire a projectile that deals burst fire damage and damage over time once per minute. To ensure fair distribution, Tier Tokens for set pieces will be divided into two categories, reducing the competition among players.

The Sunken Temple raid has always been known for its early epic drops, and Season of Discovery gives them a fresh new look. Some notable revamped items include the Embrace of the Wind Serpent and Dragon's Call, both of which will feature a new glow effect.

  • More Than Just Gear

While gear upgrades are always a player's top priority, Season of Discovery also introduces some cosmetic items that allow players to express their individuality. The Atal'ai Blood Ceremoney, a deadly game of rock, paper, scissors, promises an intense battle where only one can emerge victorious. Additionally, wielding the Unorthodox Hex Stick will transform you into a creepy crawler, tapping into your enemy's deepest fears.

The Raid Schedule and Final Thoughts

The Temple of Atal'Hakkar raid will be available on day one of Phase 3, which is April 4th. To facilitate group coordination, a weekly lockout will be in place and reset every Tuesday. Despite the weekly lockout, the bosses in this raid will drop more loot than usual to compensate for the reduced number of raid resets.

So, what are your thoughts on the changes coming to the 20-player version of Sunken Temple, the revamped quest rewards, and the upcoming raid schedule? Share your opinions with us in the comments below!
