February 15, 2024 4 minutes

Blizzard has recently implemented hotfixes for the Season of Discovery Realms in WoW Classic, addressing various issues related to the Blood Moon event, several Gnomeregan bosses, and class adjustments. In this post, we will discuss the changes that have been made and how they will impact gameplay.

Blood Moon Event Fixes

One of the notable fixes for the Blood Moon event is the correction of an issue where players would lose their stacks of Blood for the Blood Loa when leaving a party. This ensures that players can retain their progression even when switching groups. Additionally, during the Blood Moon event, the health of participants will now be increased by 30%, making the encounters more challenging and thrilling.

Another improvement is the adjustment to resurrection from Chained Spirits, which now grants players 100% of their mana. This change provides a significant benefit to players, allowing them to continue casting spells without the worry of running out of mana.

Zandalarian Emissaries, who were previously adverse to the Blood Moon, now provide protection to players in far-off locations such as Ratchet, Tirisfal Glades, and Duskwood. This change ensures that players can explore these regions without being hindered by the effects of the Blood Moon.

The scoreboards, which track the progress of players during the Blood Moon event, have also been enhanced for better responsiveness. They now activate and deactivate more smoothly when the event starts and ends, providing a seamless experience for participants.

Class Adjustments

  • Druid

Druids have received a couple of important fixes. Berserk, a powerful ability, now properly discounts the energy cost of abilities learned from runes such as Savage Roar, Sunfire, and Skull Bash. This adjustment ensures that players can make the most out of Berserk without being hindered by unnecessary energy costs.

An issue with Starsurge has been resolved. It will no longer hit the caster along with the intended target, preventing accidental self-inflicted damage.

The visual effect for Savage Roar no longer includes a Challenging Roar animation, providing a cleaner and more accurate representation of the ability's activation.

Eclipse, a core mechanic for Druids, now correctly reduces spell pushback on Wrath and Starfire, allowing players to cast these spells more reliably even when under attack.

  • Paladin

Paladins can now breathe a sigh of relief as an issue with Guarded by the Light's effect being prematurely canceled by the player has been fixed. This means that the protective effect will remain intact as intended, providing valuable damage mitigation for Paladins.

  • Priest

A bug that was causing Void Plague to benefit more from spell power than intended has been addressed. This fix ensures that the ability's scaling is in line with the developers' intentions, providing a balanced gameplay experience.

Another bug related to Renew has been resolved, preventing Priests from mistakenly placing two copies of the spell on a single target. This adjustment ensures that the spell functions as intended, avoiding potential confusion and misuse.

  • Shaman

Shamans can now utilize Power Surge gained during a Lava Burst, Lightning Bolt, or Chain Lightning cast without it being consumed by the same cast. This fix brings more consistency to gameplay, allowing Shamans to make strategic use of this resource without wasting it unintentionally.

  • Warlock

Warlocks will be pleased to know that a couple of issues have been rectified. Fear ranks 2 and 3 now correctly change into Menace while Metamorphosis is active, ensuring that the ability functions as intended during this form. Additionally, Dance of the Wicked will now provide the correct amount of mana back, allowing Warlocks to sustain their spellcasting more effectively.

Gnomeregan Boss Fixes

In Gnomeregan, several boss encounters have undergone improvements to enhance the overall experience:

  • Electrocutioner 6000

  • Players can no longer outrange or use line of sight to prevent the cast or chain effect of Static Arc. This fix ensures that the boss encounter functions as intended, providing a fair challenge to players.

  • Mechanical Menagerie

  • The fight now resets properly if one of the bosses was in self-repair mode when the fight resets. This adjustment ensures that the encounter resets correctly and allows for a smoother progression for players.

  • Rig Wars

After defeating Mekgineer Thermaplugg, Thermaplugg's Safe will now spawn under one of the Bomb Dispensers, providing a clear visual indicator for players.

Conclusion

These hotfixes for WoW Classic's Season of Discovery Realms address various issues that were affecting gameplay, ensuring a smoother and more enjoyable experience for players. The improvements to the Blood Moon event, class adjustments, and Gnomeregan boss fixes contribute to a more balanced and engaging gameplay environment. Keep an eye out for further updates and changes as the Season of Discovery continues to unfold!
