Upcoming Season of Discovery Class Adjustments Incoming on the March 5th Weekly Reset
Blizzard has recently announced some exciting updates for the upcoming Season of Discovery Class Tuning on the Weekly Reset. As players progress through the game and reach level 40, there have been ongoing evaluations of in-game progress, community feedback, and bug reports. In response to this, Blizzard will be implementing several adjustments to address the underperformance of certain classes in the game.
Hunter
Let's start with the Hunter class. The Chimera Shot will now have its damage increased to 120% of weapon damage, up from 100%. Additionally, Chimera Shot's Serpent Sting component will have its damage increased to 48% of Serpent Sting's damage, up from 40%. These changes will help Hunters deal more damage with these abilities and improve their overall performance.
Explosive Shot will also see a boost, as its base damage before Attack Power calculations will be increased by 15%. This change will make the ability more formidable and increase its effectiveness in combat. Furthermore, Carve will have its damage increased to 65% of weapon damage, up from 50%, further enhancing the Hunter's arsenal of damage-dealing abilities.
Mage
Next up, we have the Mage class. Frostfire Bolt will receive a significant increase in base damage by 50%. Additionally, the damage increase from bonus spell damage will also be enhanced by 16%, bringing it on par with Fireball. Spellfrost Bolt, on the other hand, will have its base damage increased by 50% and the damage increase from bonus spell damage increased by 14%, aligning it with Frostbolt. These adjustments will make these spells more powerful and give Mages an edge in battles.
The spell power coefficients for Regeneration, Mass Regeneration, and Chronostatic Preservation will be increased by 88%. This change aims to compensate for Mage healers who primarily wear items granting "damage and healing" instead of "healing" stats. Additionally, the mana cost of Chronostatic Preservation will be decreased by 44%, making it more cost-effective for Mages to use this ability. Some tooltip issues related to Chronostatic Preservation will also be resolved for clarity.
Paladin
The Paladin class will also receive some adjustments. The damage of Seal of Martyrdom will be increased to 50% weapon damage per swing, up from 40%. The Judgement ability triggered by Seal of Martyrdom will also see an increase in damage to 85% weapon damage, up from 70%. Additionally, the effects of Seal of Martyrdom and Judgement will now benefit from talents and effects that modify Seal of Righteousness, particularly Improved Seal of Righteousness. These changes will empower Paladins in combat and make their abilities more impactful.
Warlock
Warlocks will benefit from the Grimoire of Synergy, which will now increase their damage, as well as their pet's damage, by 25% when activated. This is a significant increase from the previous 5% bonus and will greatly enhance the offensive capabilities of Warlocks during battles.
Warrior
Lastly, Warriors will see an improvement in the Devastate ability, with its damage being increased to 150% of weapon DPS, up from 100%. This increase in damage applies before taking into account the number of Sunder Armor stacks. This change will make Devastate a more effective ability in the Warrior's rotation and increase their overall damage output.
These class tuning adjustments demonstrate Blizzard's commitment to improving the gameplay experience for all players. By addressing underperforming classes and enhancing key abilities, the game becomes more balanced and exciting for everyone. Stay tuned for more updates and continue to explore the vast world of this extraordinary game!
