Phase 2 Season of Discovery Interview with Developers - Waylaid Supplies No Longer Exclusive
Hey everyone! WowCarry here with some exciting news about Phase 2 of the Season of Discovery in WoW Classic. Recently, content creator Scottejaye had the opportunity to sit down with developers Clayton Stone and Ana Resendez to discuss all the new updates coming our way. In this article, we'll be highlighting some of the key points from the interview. If you want to watch the full interview, we've provided the link below. Let's dive in!
Improvements and Lessons Learned
The developers have taken the lessons learned from Phase 1 and have implemented some improvements for Phase 2. One of the changes includes PvP events and certain class-defining Runes. They have listened to player feedback and made adjustments accordingly.
Blood Moon PvP Event
If you choose to opt out of the Blood Moon PvP event, you will not be placed in a different layer. Instead, you will remain friendly with players from your faction while still being subjected to normal server PvP rules. This means that if you are flagged for PvP, you can still be attacked by the opposing faction. However, you will not receive any Blood Moon rewards when killed, nor will you earn any for killing other players.
New Runes and Gnomeregan Raid
In Phase 2, each class will receive 6-7 new Runes, adding more depth and customization options. Additionally, the developers have chosen Gnomeregan as the new Level-Up raid. This decision was made because it provides enough space for 10-player groups to explore and engage in exciting boss encounters. The development team also expressed their creative excitement for this particular raid.
Quality of Life Updates and Skillbooks
In an effort to smooth out any design gaps and enhance the overall player experience, Phase 2 will introduce Quality of Life Skillbooks. These new additions are aimed at improving gameplay and class balance. Depending on player feedback, the developers may introduce more Skillbooks in future phases.
Professions and Leveling Experience
Waylaid Supplies will no longer be limited to one at a time. Players can now carry multiple Waylaid Supplies, making the leveling experience more convenient. Additionally, there are no plans to introduce Vellums for Enchanting. The developers want to maintain a sense of prestige for certain crafters, allowing them to excel and build their reputation on the server.
There have been hints from the developers that gathering professions may receive some perks in the future, so keep an eye out for any updates regarding this exciting possibility.
Furthermore, the developers have no intentions of introducing Experience rewards from Battlegrounds in Phase 2. The focus of the Season of Discovery is to encourage players to explore the world and enjoy the leveling experience. This decision aligns with their vision to keep the leveling process immersive and exciting.
